interesting aliens meets religion
Revisado: 02-04-25
interesting, well written fiction book with pepper book which has a fresh take on alien origins being the outcast angelic beings who took fair daughters of men to create demi-gods as has been mentioned in the scriptures. This book in the very least an interesting read. it is well written. my hat is off to the author. well done, sir. The narration is done well, also.

Honestly, I should have given these back to Audible and asked for my credit back. I really can't tell you why I didn't, other than I like to finish things that I start, then I'd feel like a cheat listening to them and wanting my money back..... bur they were hard to finish. the last two books were the best of the bunch but that still doesn't mean good, or even mediocre. I understand some folks like different stuff, but, the author obviously had no clue about firearms, such as when he repeatedly called one of the protagonists guns a "38 Magnum". There is no such thing, There are multiple 38 caliber pistols but no "magnum" that is where the 357 magnum comes in. Nit-picky maybe but there were a lot of errors in firearms, tactics, etc. and in this genre those are pretty inexcusable mistakes, a lot of guys like me who went to war as infantrymen, etc. find that very vexing and ruins the story. The books were narrated by a female, a strange choice as it is mostly a male listener genre and most of the protagonists were male. also the books seemed to be written by a female, though I believe the author was male. The attitudes, reactions, etc. were very soft hearted. someone like me or an individual who will survive events described in this genre, world as we know it ending events, will not be soft hearted, they can't be or they will be dead. Sorry to leave such a scathing review on a project that someone put so much time and effort into, and thank you author for bringing attention to the EMP threat to America and the world, but I couldn't in good conscience recommend your books.

The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Very well done and legitimately interesting.

A very engaging, and very well done lecture on the topic. Though it is not an issue for some of us, one of the reasons many people don't study history more it that it often is presented in a rather dull and monotonous manner. This is certainly not the case in this lecture. There is plenty of wit and personality injected into the material, without detracting from it. Great job!

Entertaining take on the zombie genre
Revisado: 02-07-23
Overall a good book, it is pretty entertaining, good characters, and I also like the development of the zombie pathogen. it is more plausible than most author's explanations of "... and then poof, suddenly the dead people started getting back up and eating living people." The author also did well with the nomenclature, jargon, banter and "Devil may care" attitudes common with tip of the spear folks.
My only real complaint with the book was one glitch with the narrator, honestly. The primary protagonist is of West African extraction. The narrator ATTEMPTS to affect this accent but winds up pulling off a rather convincing Aussie accent in its place. I tried to throw him a bone and convince my mind that maybe he was at least pushing an Afrikaans accent.... nope.... "shrimp on the barby", all the way.
Aside from this, it is a pretty well written and performed book. Give it a try.

Sometimes the worst storms aren't from Mother Nature, and sometimes the worst nightmares aren't the ones in our heads. Mike Mitchell, an average New Yorker already struggling to keep his family together, suddenly finds himself fighting just to keep them alive when an increasingly bizarre string of disasters starts appearing on the world's news networks. As both the real world and the cyber world come crashing down, bending perception and reality, a monster snowstorm cuts New York off from the world, turning it into a wintry tomb where nothing is what it seems.

Interesting listen
Revisado: 02-03-23
I was a little hesitant with this one at first honestly. I do love the genre, but the synopsis of the book gave me a pause at first. everything comes unraveled during a simultaneous freak snow storm AND a cyberstorm in NYC. I was wondering if it was going to be some sort of eco freak, tree hugger, leftist, preachy book. but thankfully that really wasn't the case though there were a couple of passing mentions of "global warming".
Having lived in NYC about a year, including during a freak snow storm I figured, I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did
The characters were all well developed and you either liked or hated them. The author did a great job on the book. He obviously lives in NYC as he knows and expresses the city very well. This also leads to him doing some.things differently than I would, such as equipping his protagonists with .38 caliber pistols, supplied by the one which is the prepper. Why on Earth would anyone do that if they knew guns? I get it if he wants the simplicity and reliability of a revolver, and the reduced price of practice ammo of a .38 Spc. but get a .357 Magnum. they can shoot 38 Spc. ammo for practice but keep 357 Magnum in them for carry loads. not true in reverse, if you purchase a 38 Spc. handgun. Anyway, I'll shut up and let you enjoy the book as it was enjoyable overall.

Pretty decent effort to forecast the future.
Revisado: 01-04-23
The author does a pretty decent job explaining his opinion of what the future holds for our geopolitical landscape. he has been pretty close on several of his predictions, ie Russia/Ukraine, considering he wrote this work in 2009. but others you wonder if he just put a bunch of cards on a wall with different ideas or words scawled on them, blindfolded himself and started flinging darts. easy for me to say, I know.
Overall I feel it was a fairly well researched, thought out and put together book though. the narrator did a good job as well.

An outstanding view of the rise and fall of Hitler
Revisado: 01-02-23
As the title proclaims the lengthy but fascinating book chronicles the rise, Zenith and tremendous fall of the dreaded Nazi Party, the Third Reich and their insane, but gifted orator and leader; Adolf Hitler.
Having read this book as a young man, I recall it being good, but did not recall it being quite so long or quite so impressive. Perhaps I came across an abridged version if one exists, or perhaps these things were just lost to my youth.
What makes this book so impressive? Many things, but for me the most impressive is the author's first hand knowledge, having actually been there for much of the historical incidents, but equally if not more important was his amazing access to the voluminous archives of journals, reports, meeting minutes, etc. of all sides in the concerned conflict, from Nazi fanatics and senior leadership, anti-Nazi conspirators, the Soviets, those in the Italian camp, French, British, American and even in those so often glossed over in the history books as being merely a path for the Germans to invade France, ie Holland, Belgium, etc.
But you don't want to read my assessment, you want to read (listen to) the book. so get started. Don't let the size worry you, if you are a fan of history, you'll be captivated for every minute of it. Enjoy!

Good financial system implodes America, book
Revisado: 11-10-22
This was a good book, and could very well be set today with all the foolishness we have going on in DC. Yes, there is a lot of Christian ideology and biblical references and scripture quotes. so what? The characters in the story were devout Christians, big deal. I'm not sure why some of the others who rated this book poorly were so offended by that. There were also a lot of really great quotes from the Founding Fathers in the book. I thought the story was good and the narration was great. If Christian ideology and scriptures or Founders quotes offend you, then snowflake past this book, but if you can handle that, pick it up because I think you'll enjoy it. I'm going to get the next book in the series.

Interesting history of Caesar's Legions
Revisado: 09-15-22
A well written and well narrated recounting of the history of the legions which served during the time of Caesar, with particular attention paid to the 10th. I do know that some historical books can be drab and tiresome, this however is not one of those books. There is a pleasant mix of historical sources, strategy, tactics, the combatants own words as well as the author's own conjecture, painting an image of battle scenes as he believed they appeared.
It was an interesting twist, assigning modern military rank in place of the Roman rank, yet sticking to other traditional Roman names and verbiage. I was a bit hesitant of this when he explained his reasoning for doing so in the beginning of the book, but it actually works. All in all, I enjoyed it and think you will as well.

Witty, well thought out, well researched.
Revisado: 08-28-22
I have listened to several presentations from this author, again he does not disappoint. His research as always is exhaustive and well documented. His viewpoints are well thought out and presented and he adds just enough humor to keep the subject engaging. Even in the areas where he and I don't see eye to eye, I can understand how he comes to his conclusion due to the facts he presents. It is also refreshing how he does not allow his political views to stain the book.
I find it entertaining reading some of the comments which are negative. Their rub is simply that the author claims the America's, particularly the USA will weather the collapse the best and everyone else will suffer more. They don't refute with facts, just anti-American bile. The very reasons America became so wealthy and powerful are all the factors which will make us weather the collapse so well. The author's assertions are perfectly valid. All in all, another enjoyable offering. Well done, sir!
