Historia
Jo told him the phone call had been about a woman who wanted to have her husband declared dead. Smith thought for a moment and then said, 'Hmm. There must be a few million women in this country who feel like that. I take it her husband's been missing for a while and she's decided it's time to move on. In the absence of a body, which is always a nuisance, she wants Diver and Diver to confirm there's no proof he's alive. And I've told Jason a dozen times I'm not getting involved in anything matrimonial. I have enough trouble sorting out my own relationships.'

Kept me interested from 1st page to last
Revisado: 10-28-23
The book was compelling with constant action/suspense. If I had one small complaint, it would be that too many of the main characters became the targets/victims of the suspense. Stretched the imagination a bit and I found myself rolling my eyes at times. Otherwise very good and I look forward to the next in the series. Narration was excellent and characters well developed.

I love the Cormoran Strike books. So intelligently written. This book is no exception and arguably the best book in the series so far and that’s saying a lot. Robert Glenister is exceptional as the narrator! Highly recommend. Despite its length l, I ripped through it - couldn’t stop listening.

Historia
DCI Matilda Darke has returned to work after a nine-month absence. A shadow of her former self, she is tasked with reopening a cold case: the terrifyingly brutal murders of Miranda and Stefan Harkness. The only witness was their 11-year-old son, Jonathan, who was too deeply traumatised to speak a word. Then a dead body is discovered, and the investigation leads back to Matilda's case. Suddenly the past and present converge, and it seems a killer may have come back for more....

Fun summer read
Revisado: 06-12-18
I needed a break from the serious fiction I’d been reading. This one was a quality, fun romance. Narrator Georgia Maguire is really good and adds to the enjoyment of the audiobook. If you want a happy escape, well written and emotionally satisfying - definitely worth a listen. Just don’t expect anything deep and intellectual - but that’s what made it a great escape.

Ok for a beach read
Revisado: 02-11-18
This was an odd story and at times just plain silly - and a bit all over the place. characters weren’t terribly well-developed. It was ok for a ‘beach read’ as long as you don’t expect too much. Narrator over-did character voices making them all sound like caricatures.

Not one of Harlan coben’s best
Revisado: 02-11-18
I love the Myron Bolitar books by Coben so expected that quality. This one was mediocre in comparison - and a bit contrived and weird. Kept my interest but wasn’t compelling and not up to Harlan Coben usual standard.
