the mc is so immature it drives me up the wall. Half the time I wasn't sure if it was the virus or him. It really started to peeve me how lucky he got. ***spoiler ***I will admit I was grateful a character was spared that I just knew would die from following him. I hated that Murphy did everythingfor this guy he barely knew abd ditched his sister. I really couldn't understandhis reasoning no matter how close. ****The story was great and moved along but I found myself starting to dread Zed and wish for info on the side characters. It's worth it but by about book 7 I was a bit over him.

The new, detached setting is teeming with "land mines"—highly unusual ones. Plenty of other, deadlier things would be happy to reach out and touch someone anywhere, be it the roof of a skyscraper or a subway tunnel deep underground. Tons of somnambulant extras could swing either way: cut your throat or help you, purely on a whim. Weapons are as deadly as they are improbable. Deliberately imposed multiple handicaps make any attempts at camouflage meaningless.

I really enjoyed each book. Even when some characters are left after the new tier happens it doesn't make me miss them because they'll meet up again at some point. That's the vibe you get. It's been a real adventure and I've binged thus far. looking forward to the next one.

the voice wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

I listened for about an hour before I couldn't bare the main character anymore. Life has so many spoiled, entitled people. And I just couldn't listen to it anymore. That's what she is. She gave me a headache.

I hate the main character

Im not even a quarter of the way through and am said i lost the credit. The story has been fine and the plot and characters pretty well developed. But the main guy Nathaniel is just about impossible for me to like. Not 2 minutes from being transported he's plotting how to use and/or kill people to his advantage. Its just not what I expected. He's unfriendly and in his own words he says he'll use them for give and take and it'll be more take then anything. And he blames it on being introverted... like im introverted but he's a school shooter vibe all for himself. I'm giving up. I hope this helps someone.

I made it...

Midway through i was sick of the H. She's a hypocrite and made stupid decisions but it'd get better then worse. It has moments where I wish there was more descriptions of the landscape and more background on some of the ppl mentioned. But all in all the narrator did a great job and what was there kept me listening even though I did have to take a few breaks to relax and get back into it.

I was gifted as a slave-bride to an alien giant. That's the start of my day. At least I have my guide dog, Kota, with me. I'd be lost without her...literally. Yes. I'm blind. And our new alien owner is kind enough that he's not holding me to the wife or slave deal even though that's what I was intended for. We've basically been dropped into a scene from Little House on the Alien Prairie, complete with his one-room cabin, and he's been the perfect gentleman. He's pretty great, and I'm actually starting to wish I could take him home with me.
