If looking for a Jack Sparrow sort of pirate read, this book isn't for you. Instead our pirate is a disgruntled and pissy man whose life and livelihood revolve around his ships and the waters of the earth. When he finds an heiress bobbing in the water alongside his massive ship he reels her in to safety. Little does he know he may have been better off leaving her where he found her or depositing her at the nearest port town ASAP. However, love and fate have some different ideas on how things will go for these two. Best to just hang on tight and let the story overtake you.😄

I enjoyed the story and the coming together of Lincoln and Caroline. A lot of truthful and touching moments without excess violence and devastation. It was nice to go back to the basics of a HEA with a string female lead.

And virtual narration is for the birds. I hate it for every book and wish it would be done away with altogether!

This book has too many plot lines spanning over too long of a period of time to really get to enjoy. wicked and Poppy, Wicked and the Mafia, Wicked and LaLa...later on an addition, LaLa"s mothers involvement including a Ling lost relative, etc. There is so much to try and wrap it all up with a pretty bow unfortunately it comes off as a tangled mess.

I would have much rather read two books with Wicked entering LA Familia, involvement with LaLa, and the crazy world Wicked and Poppy come from. Book 2 would be Wicked post Igloo, reunion with LaLa, the beginnngs of LaLa, introduction of :c""$"$cccve 3 Stars Overall for Audibl"vv

Wow! That's all I could say for the first little while. Then as my tear stained tshirt and face began to dry I sucked in a breath. And then exhaled. Dark boy meets light girl but one with darkness swirling underneath. He sees her darkness but is unaware of where it comes from. He gets a glimpse one day and knows it stems from someone very close but he has no idea how close. In the end her past and his present collide and neither one of them ever saw it coming. Definitely ends on a cliffhanger but thank goodness the next book is right there for the taking. Don't think I would have made it long waiting for a book to come out. This is why I almost never read a series until all books complete. It takes a very special series to make me break that rule. The last one that did was Maggie Stiefvater

Join the Brothers and their Old Ladies individual romance stories and the club as a while. Shadow and Danni, Bobby and Doc, Lip and Cherry to the Pres himself Bull and a woman no one saw coming.

I enjoyed the individual stories of each couple intertwined with the battles and on goings of Club Business itself. The author did an awesome job of keeping the indivifual stories running parallel with Club itself from book to book. Even when a book included some flashbacks I never lost the direction in which the story meant to take me. Danni and Shadow were my fave couple...mostly because of Shadow. But enjoyable box set all together. Recommend now while on Audible Plus!

According to Audible, this is an occult paranormal romance, and Libby identifies it as a fantasy romance. No where have I seen any listing identifying this series as a young adult, anything.

I found this interesting as the lead female character is in high school. Not to mention, several other characters are also in high school, and the lead male love interest is a teacher at the same high school. It's all very confounding if you ponder for too long.

The student/teacher romance also seems to be a huge point of interest to many. I've seen several reviews comment on the romantic relationship between the two main characters as being wrong, disturbing, disgusting, etc. While I wholeheartedly agree when applied to reality or real life, this is FICTION and FANTASY FICTION at that. Get over it already.

I may never understand why a person chooses to apply real-world political correctness to a fiction book review. Much less rate it low stars based on that thought process alone? Why read the book in the first place? Especially when the book jacket or back cover clearly spells it out in advance...

Excerpt examples:
"Jess Carter only wants to finish out her senior year of high school" and "the stalkers are after her, the insanely hot guy is one of the high school coaches"

Rant over...the book itself is fine for what it is. Not a whole lot of "romance" other than some feelings of desire stated, the words I love you exchanged, some light kissing, and a few one line descriptions of ecstasy felt after a mating love bite. The synopsis states contain mature themes, which I've determined is in reference to misogynistic attitudes, crude references to sexually overpowering a woman, etc. etc.

As far as romance goes, unfortunately, it's 1☆ at best. The storyline repetiveness of actions amongest rival packs is boring and at best 2☆. I've read the first two books of this series in hopes that something exciting may actually redeem the series as a whole, but major letdown is what I've found. Pitty as it had potential, but alas, it never got off the ground. Time better spent elsewhere, IMHO.

The narration is top notch! Second to none! The romantic novel "formula" is flawless (Google it if unsure 😊). Unfortunately the storyline for me fell flat, especially the two lead love interest characters. Sigh. I won't be continuing the series as there is much more tantalizing offers to be found in Audible Plus. Two supporting lead characters, Seth and "Amy" overshadow Roland and Sara, the two lead love interest characters. Seth makes for a much more suave and mysterious lead love interest for sure. Sara is irritating to the point of eye rolls and boredom. 🥱

The story of a family trying to survive an epidemic caused by a viral outbreak unlike the world has ever seen. Nila's family evacuates to her father's secluded cabin after her brother calls from the CDC and warns them of a viral outbreak. Epidemic status the world is chaos, survival of the fittest and survival at all costs.

The overall story plot was well thought out, interesting and entertaining. The audiobook narrator is talented and does an excellent job bringing each character to life. Unfortunately the main character, Nila, a wife, daughter, mother ad friend is one of the worst written characters I've ever encountered.

Before evacuation Nila comments on her desire, hope and intent to hold on to her humanity at all costs. I believe the author intended to portray Nila as compassionate and empathetic in order to fulfill that intent of maintaining humanity. Unfortunately the author missed the mark concerning Nila.

Instead of compassion and empathy Nila comes across as being simple minded, naive
