Historia
Hungary is more than just vampire stories and cheesy violin-playing waiters named “Laszlo”. It has a rich history that goes back to the first wild Magyar horsemen, who arrived there in the late ninth century. For a time, the Magyars were both mercenaries and raiders, a horse-bound version of the Vikings in France and Britain. They terrorized the populations of Austria, Germany, and even Italy and eastern France. After the Austro-Hungarian defeat in WWI, Hungary became an independent nation.

Historia
It's no secret that liberalism didn't always live up to its own ideals. In America, many people were denied equality before the law. Who counted as full human beings worthy of universal rights was contested for centuries, and only recently has this circle expanded to include women, African Americans, LGBTQ+ people, and others. Conservatives complain that liberalism empties the common life of meaning. As Francis Fukuyama shows in Liberalism and Its Discontents, the principles of liberalism have also, in recent decades, been pushed to new extremes by both the right and the left.

Used faulty examples
Revisado: 06-19-23
Interesting analysis of nationalism vs liberalism and conservatives vs liberal. Throughout he says conservative cling to falsehoods and that is why they can’t work with progressives. The author mentions 1) thinking the election of 2020 was stolen, 2) thinking the CDC lied about the source of COVID and the. safety and efficacy of the shot, and 3) the impact of man made gases on global warming. We’ll as the facts come in it looks like.conservatives were right and progressive wrong on all three issues. It is too bad the examples are so flawed The book would have earned a higher rating.

How Election Fraud Is Rampant, and How to Stop It before It Kills America. Stealing Your Vote tells the story of corruption within the Democratic Party—but also reveals the cowardice throughout the Republican Party, as fat and happy politicians from both parties desperately worked to protect the status quo. Bobb also tells the story of a handful of brave patriots who tried, and continue trying, to find out just what happened in 2020.

Mark R. Levin has made the case, in numerous New York Times best-selling books - Men in Black, Liberty and Tyranny, and Ameritopia - that the principles undergirding our society and governmental system are unravelling. In The Liberty Amendments, he turns to the founding fathers and the constitution itself for guidance in restoring the American republic.

Historia
The chief weapon deployed by the government-corporate-media Establishment against the Trump presidency was propaganda. Time and again, allegations from anonymous sources were disseminated by a partisan media, promoted by a dishonest Democrat Party leadership, and ultimately debunked when the facts surfaced. But by the time the truth came out, it was too late. There had already been casualties. One of the highest profile casualties was Paul Manafort.

If you ever wondered how the DOJ operates, read this book. Paul is a good writer, he is smart, he is insightful, and he is able to make the process come alive . .... and there are little plus items like Paul's description of his coming to love daily Bible readings and his involvement with prisoner education while incarcerated. I liked that he and a guard decided to start a course for prisoners on "how to be a good dad". That's a course every prison should offer.

Historia
Millions of Americans have lost confidence in our political and economic system. After years of stagnant wages, volatile job markets, and an unwillingness by those in power to deal with profound threats such as climate change, there is a mounting sense that the system is fixed, serving only those select few with enough money to secure a controlling stake. With the characteristic clarity and passion that has made him a central civil voice, Robert B. Reich shows how wealth and power have interacted to install an elite oligarchy, eviscerate the middle class, and undermine democracy.

Mostly great ... two items missing
Revisado: 04-29-22
Great book, full of facts. However ... 1) on Trump we get ad hominem attacks "he is Racist" but his % black vote increased 2016 to 2020, and Hershel Walker, Dr Carson, K. West etc. are his friends - more detail explanation is needed..... and 2) on "diversity is our strength" perhaps if we can get all these diverse people to adopt a Western Values System but how to assure this happens? There is no discussion by Dr Reich. Has anyone actually written a fact filled book detailing why Trump is actually so bad. ?

For many centuries, the world of Islam was at the forefront of human achievement: the foremost military and economic power in the world, the leader in the arts and sciences of civilization. Christian Europe, a remote land beyond its northwestern frontier, was seen as an outer darkness of barbarism and unbelief from which there was nothing to learn or to fear.

Historia
For anyone interested in foreign affairs, this book will catalyze debate, and not only for Mr. Huntington's concluding scenario for World War III. He sees how this could happen if the U.S. mishandles an increasingly xenophobic and truculent China. Chinese assertiveness, Huntington argues, rises out of its felt grievances against a relatively weakening West. After China, the gravest challenge to the West is resurgent Islamic identity.
