The mysteries are interesting.
Revisado: 02-11-24
The older ladies are a hoot, the mysteries are good but the romance is annoying. I'm not sure I can get through another book having to listen to that Italian accent.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I Loved Harry's Book!
Revisado: 03-02-23
Great book. I learned much about the British toxic tabloids and palace politics. I hope he makes enough on this book to cover the tab for private security for the rest of his life.
Harry has a lovely voice and did a superb job of narration. He is better than many professionals.
I though he did a great job explaining some of the nuances and undercurrents of palace life that we Americans never see. As I was reading this, I couldn't help but think how differently things would have turned out for the brothers if Princess Dianna had lived to see them into adulthood.
As of this writing, 90% of readers gave it 5 stars and another 6% gave it 4 stars yet the bulk of reviews on display seem to over represent the 4% of readers giving it 3 or fewer stars. Ignore the small minority, it's a great read.

Historia
Beekeeper Holly McNee Kensen quietly lives in a world of her own on Sullivan’s Island, tending her hives and working at the local island library. Holly calls her mother "The Queen Bee" because she’s a demanding hulk of a woman. Her mother, a devoted hypochondriac, might be unaware she’s quite ill, but that doesn’t stop her from tormenting Holly. To escape the drama, Holly’s sister, Leslie, married and moved away, wanting little to do with island life. Holly’s escape is to submerge herself in the lives of the two young boys next door and their widowed father, Archie.

I bought this after hearing that the author had passed away. I have read or listened to almost all of her books over the years so this is like saying farewell to an old friend. This was a fun story with a happy ending. I'm sad that it is the last.

Exhausting to keep up with timeline
Revisado: 10-29-21
The story was interesting but I felt like a tennis ball being bounced around trying to follow the story. I had to go back to re-listen quite a few times to figure out what was going on. Maybe the print version would be easier.
The narrator was good.

No Executor or Executrix in Florida
Revisado: 05-17-20
I liked the book for the most part but research was lacking. I worked for a bank trust department in Florida 30 some years back settling estates, Florida doesn't use the title Executor or Executrix. The person responsible for estate settlement is called the Personal Representative.

Brain Cancer doesn't disappear by becoming a monk
Revisado: 03-20-18
Having lost a brother to primary brain cancer and a cousin to non cancerous brain tumor the Forest Gump approach to curing malignant illness wasn't entertaining. Chemo is not the first treatment of choice either. Author obviously hasn't seen this cancer close up.
Should have been a more fun book.

Historia
A smartly dressed man has been found unconscious at the local racecourse and is rushed to the hospital, where he subsequently dies. But who is he? Where does he come from? He had no form of identification on him, and no one claims the body. Doctor Chris Rankin, a specialist who treated the deceased—and who struggles with mental health issues—is intrigued by the nameless dead man, obsessed even, and starts asking questions. However, someone doesn’t want the questions answered and will go to any lengths to prevent it, including an attempted murder.

Different but Good!
Revisado: 10-23-17
This may be a book that appeals to women more then men, I loved it. The female doctor runs into some shady dudes who killed her patient then try to kill her and she gets even. A very satisfying ending. Because she has had a history depression, anxiety and an eating disorder, it is easy for the police to dismiss her observations and complaints. She takes matters into her own capable hands.

Much better!
Revisado: 09-07-17
This book focused more on the mystery and less on the fiber and art end of things which is a good thing as I found it annoying in previous books that the author didn't have a good grasp of fiber arts. It was a good mystery. I enjoy the sense of community that serves as the backdrop for the series. I'll for sure buy the next one.
