From the first book in the series (It’s Namesake) to this 5th book (Book of Joe) I’ve been fully engaged. The writing is spot-on, storytelling is great, and the characters are awesome. Each of these books ends with you hungering for more. Book of Joe came to a close in the same manner and delivered something I hadn’t realized I was waiting for. I won’t elaborate to avoid any spoiler. I will say I pumped a fist…a couple times!

I’m not always a fan of British TV or movies. Not exactly sure why since I love the British, Scottish, and Irish accents. I think what made this a great listen was how natural and un-pretentious the dialogue was. very well written and fun!

The Taskforce is on the job!

Great book! There are so many books and authors, who write good action but fail to keep you engaged during the buildup. All the stuff in between or leading up to the action can unbelievable, a bit mundane, or just boring. Brad Taylor is anything but! As usual, The Devil’s Ransom was another fantastic Taskforce/Pike Logan thriller. Great storyline, well researched, very believable, and action packed. Can’t wait for the next book.

Fun!

My first introduction to Craig Robertson was his Expeditionary Force series. Such fantastic writing and incredible imagination. This Time Wars series is equally fun, witty, full of great characters, and so we’ll written. The imagination necessary to come up with this type of content is mind-boggling. And although this series isn’t told by one of my favorite narrators (R.C. Bray), Scott Aiello brings the characters and stories to life perfectly.

I began with Joshua Dalzelle’s The Black Fleet Trilogy. I was completely unaware of the universe of worlds and characters he’s created across 24+ books. Several chapters into the first Black Fleet book (Warship) I was hooked. And I soon learned Dalzelle had so many more available! This current book (The Human Factor) being number 8 of 13 in the Omega Force series — the series of books that started it all, hits the mark every time. Dalzelle hooks you with emotion, suspense, action, character background, and of course one hell of a journey. As a lover of science fiction and action, he sinks the hook deeper with every twist and turn. Since I alternate between listening and reading, I can also say without question that Paul Heitsch is the perfect narrator for this entire series!
