Historia
With the dark cloud of civil war gathering on the horizon, Gabriel Garrett struggles to protect his new home and the new life he has just begun. But as he soon learns, a man's past has a way of catching up with him, and Gabriel has more than his share of dark secrets. When his world is shattered, he will walk a path of vengeance across a land where the dead hold sway, and the living count their lives in seconds. His enemy is the deadliest he has ever faced, and in this battle, there is no justice, no redemption, and no mercy. There is only revenge.

Historia
America is in the thrall of a full-scale socioeconomic breakdown. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation destroys the value of the dollar, and the population, unprepared for hardship, panics. Practically overnight, the high technology infrastructure and chains of supply collapse and wholesale rioting and looting grip every city. Law enforcement, transportation, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies are all in the past now, as the country staggers beneath its own weight.

The story has developed ADD.

Would you try another book from James Wesley, Rawles and/or Dick Hill?
Yes. Overall I think they are on the right track, the first book in the series was great, this one was lackluster. There was still a lot of details but they jumped around countless times. If you were not paying very close attention you easily got lost.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Focus, focus on a couple groups of characters and stay on a consistent timeline. This book jumped around A LOT.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Narrator did fine.
Could you see Survivors: A Novel of the Coming Collapse being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
IDK
Any additional comments?
It's still worth a listen/read but the first book it is not.

Practically overnight, the fragile chains of supply and high-technology infrastructure fall, and wholesale rioting and looting grip every major city.

Very detailed, good story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, the book outlined a very possible event and outcome. More people need to get prepared, whether it be for job loss, weather event, economic collapse, solar storm, EMP, or zombies. Our grandparents were prepared but as things became more convenient we became more dependent on a very fragile on demand supply chain.
What did you like best about this story?
It's detail, sometimes it was almost too much detail but not often. I will have to buy the hard copy of the book and a pack of highlighters.
Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't believe so.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me think. There are thousands of possibilities but I got several very good ideas from this book.
Any additional comments?
It's worth a read/listen.
