Historia
A thousand-year-old cultivator, Drew, is about to ascend to a higher existence. As he begins the process, he finds out he has pissed off one too many demigods. Though he manages to fight off the concerted effort of sect elders and patriarchs...he is slapped away from the higher realms by something. After an instant or an eternity, he awakens on a lower realm! The air is filled with garbage energy, and his emotions of all things are allowing him to control it. For a cultivator that has spent his existence absolutely controlling his thoughts...that won’t do at all.

Interesting but not Arresting
Revisado: 12-22-22
There are some cool things going on in this story but the main character is hard to relate to and the side characters aren't interesting enough to make up for it. I'm tempted to get the second book to see if we get back story or if the main guy will ever make me feel like he's in danger but I don't quite care enough to spend the money. Lola nealy has me caring by herself. Her parts are the best parts of the story. Maybe after more thought I will come back and give it a second try.

Historia
In the wilds of the Northern California mountains, all the inhabitants of a small town have gone missing. It's as if the people picked up and left their possessions behind. With a mystery on their hands and no jurisdiction on private property, the FBI dumps the whole problem in the lap of the land owner, Aspen Creek, Inc. - a.k.a. the business organization of the Marrok's pack. Somehow, the pack of the Wolf Who Rules is connected to a group of vanished people. Werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham are tasked with investigating.

Grrr!
Revisado: 10-18-22
I really like this world and am invested in the characters. This story is interesting but it might be better to just read it myself because listening to it I am constantly losing parts when the voices don't fit the characters I know. In the Cry Wolf book Holter Graham did an excellent job, but afterward aside from Anna and Charles, the voices don't work well. It annoys me that Bran's normal talking voice is deeper than Charles. It also annoys me that Tag and Coyote sound the same. Often I feel like whoever is in charge of this production doesn't actually read it at all.

Historia
Rob didn't think of himself as anyone special, but when a pitch-black portal tried to wrap his best friend in chains, he stepped up without thinking and found himself ensnared instead. His moment of heroism results in being torn away from everyone he knew and loved, kidnapped by an unknown force that leaves him with a note in his pocket stating: "Good luck." After being thrown into the wilderness of Elatra, a hostile fantasy world ruled by levels, stats, progression, and bizarre video game logic, he finds himself entirely out of his depth.

I would recommend it.
Revisado: 07-22-22
This book was hard to get into, but now I'm invested and I want more! I didn't love the narrator at first, he sounded, over the top is the best way I can describe it but I got used to him and then it was just Rob to me. The elves sounded robotic but then that was just an elf thing. So now that I know the characters a little better it seems like everything fits and I understand the choices that were made.
The story started slow and a little weird, more than I expected under the circumstances. Things happened, dumb jokes were made and I stuck with it. I got to know and like the characters and and their little problems in town. Then it got crazy!! Things happened in the world! Wonderful, Horrible, Insane things happened and I need to know more so I'm off the "read" the second book.

Historia
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Great Book, weird ending. I want to read #2
Revisado: 04-22-21
The end seemed hurried and cut off in a way that left me feel like part of the story was missing. Still I will definitely be reading the next book when it comes out.

Like I said in the title. it was fun and easy. Don't expect crazy surprising reveals, just enjoy. But I liked it enough that now I'll see what happens in the next book.

This is TRASH!
Revisado: 09-10-19
While the reading was calming and flowed well, the content was awful. It was designed for children who have technology addictions and lack of self control. It sounds like a parent designed it for their own child, and not to be shared. Understand the thought behind it, but would prefer it to focus on the meditation aspect and less on assumptions of the child's upbringing.

Amazing!
Revisado: 01-17-19
Like many of Carol Berg's books the story sucked me in and usurped my thoughts forcing me to look differently upon a world. I love the characters! The biggest issues with the book that I experienced was the inability of the love interest to fight for his family... I was disappointed when he showed up for a second round... but even still I love him because she does! It's so much more frustrating than normal.... maybe if I finish the series it will be better!
