Magical diversion-kind of bland.
Revisado: 10-05-24
I am a fan of Danielle Garrett and always look forward to hearing her magical leanings and funny characters. This one was a bit tedious, didn’t keep my attention like some others, and often found myself spacing out only to be lost when something in the story got my attention. Alas, I stuck with it and saw the story thru. A good book to play when you don’t care TOO much about story details.

Therese Plummer’s narration is always top-notch!
Revisado: 03-12-24
Another great story from Robyn Carr—how quickly the reader comes to really “know” the characters and empathize about their life-story is a gift that Robyn Carr shares so easily. But again, the pairing of exquisite narrator (Therese Plummer) is the key to a home-run. Paired with the author’s writing, she does an incredible job at giving each character a “soul” and a distinctive voice. These characters become alive thru her talent. Excellent job! A great listen!

Historia
Celebrity cooking show host Marni McGuire has seen it all. She’s been married—twice—and widowed and divorced. Now in her mid-fifties, she’s single. Happily so. She just needs to convince her pregnant daughter, Bella, of this fact. And maybe convince herself, too. Especially after Marni’s efforts to humor her determined daughter result in a series of disastrous dates that somehow prompt Marni to wonder if maybe the right man for her is still out there after all.

A sweet story-one of my favorites, to date!
Revisado: 03-03-24
Of course…Robyn Carr does it again. A great story: new characters that I completely fell in love with…and a wonderfully sweet story of connection, family, friends and purpose. I really enjoyed this listen and ALWAYS look forward to ANY book by Carr. But the REAL star of the whole show is the narrator—Therese Plummer! This gal is a powerhouse with a sorcery-level of alluring voice narration. This is probably the BEST performance of hers I have listened to. She brings each character to life, adding unique quirks and inflections that make you “feel” like you really KNOW the person. Therese—you are a gift to audiobook listeners and my #1 Favorite voice actor!!! Thank you!

Skip it: Not my favorite one by Emily March
Revisado: 07-14-23
I have really enjoyed getting to know all the characters in the Eternity Springs series….but this one just fell so FLAT. The storyline felt stagnant and slow. At times, it felt like both characters were at an impasse and I became very bored with the story and it’s (LACK OF) momentum. My advice? Skip this one.

Pro quarterback Burke Mannion is at a crossroads in his career—nearing retirement age, he wonders if it’s time to hang up his cleats, or keep pushing on and head to training camp in a few short weeks. The decision is delayed by an upsetting phone call from his brother, and without blinking, Burke packs for Honeymoon Harbor and the home he hasn’t seen in years. The last person he expects to see when he arrives is the woman he had once thought might be the one—the same woman who had broken up with him by text as she left New York.

Such an enjoyable read (listen) and an easy and very sexy storyline, indeed! Chase’s writing and sense of humor is spot-on!!! Zachary Webber’s performance of Connor Daniels is definitely one of my very favorites!! Think: “Deadpool” humor without all the crazy action stunts! His voicing couldn’t be any better! He makes Connor absolutely irresistible and endearingly sweet. Great job!

I can't decide if I'm more in love with Robyn Carr's writing or Therese Plummer's incredible voice narrating such wonderful words! This story just had me within the first 2 minutes! Carr has such a gift introducing characters and giving the reader the feeling that you've known them forever. I love every book that Carr writes and absolutely am dazzled when Plummer is the voice to such a great masterpiece!

If you are even a TEENY bit a fan of Sara...
Revisado: 06-22-18
If you are even a TEENY bit a fan of Sara Bareilles you will adore this book. I loved every last minute of this masterpiece, and loved that she was so real, so human, and so relatable. Her voice is so buttery smooth and heart-breaking at the same time. Her stories sound like mine. Her giggles, her struggles, her highs and lows.....just so endearing. I finished this book, and instantly went down a wormhole of internet searches "fan-girling" over Sara. I didn't want the journey with my "new friend" to end. Bravo, Sara! Can't wait for another book!!!
