Historia
Readers of Richard Scott’s first two time-travel novels, Mission in Time and The Second Mission, who are looking for answers and closure will be delighted with this final book in his Time-Travel Trilogy. Not only do his chrononauts go back to the American Revolution, but they have encounters with George Washington and other revolutionary stalwarts. They have also learned that they can do things with time travel that they couldn’t do in the first two books: Things that make this book even more fun and exciting than the first two novels. If you're a history buff, you'll learn a lot about ...

Just keeps sliding Down hill
Revisado: 07-01-24
Got worse after book two because the idiotic aspects of the plot just keep coming. Misunderstanding time, blabbing about the fact that they come from the future ect. A really good idea with good characters that just went to heck in a hand basket.

Historia
Readers of Richard Scott’s time-travel novel Mission in Time wrote that it was too bad he didn’t write a sequel. Well here it is, The Second Mission. The Second Mission takes off three years after Gil and Tom ended up 240 years back in time instead of the two years into the future they had expected to find themselves. Christopher Carver and Matthew Blair expect to benefit from what was learned from the first time-travel mission out of the secret government test facility in the Nevada desert. They fully expect the mission to be far more accurate than the first. But time travel isn’t ...

Premise interesting and characters are good.

Good story but there were three fatal flaws for me. 1) design of the craft to rust away in water to prevent discovery in the past. But the intent was to go to the further. This didn’t make sense. 2) the assumption that The characters could not be killed in the past makes no sense. Sure they could. Their lives are a continuing line that loops back. I kept waiting for them to realize this or for one to die. Never happened. Silly mistake not part of the plot? 3) the actions of the traveler to reveal themselves over and over again. They go from must not to , sure I’m from the future multiple times with no good rationale. Plot device but poor. Needs work and I’ll not go further into the series.

Historia
In an astonishing feat of empathy and narrative invention, our most ambitious novelist imagines an alternate version of American history. In 1940 Charles A. Lindbergh, heroic aviator and rabid isolationist, is elected president. Shortly thereafter, he negotiates a cordial "understanding" with Adolf Hitler while the new government embarks on a program of folksy anti-Semitism.

Great plot told from the point of view of a Jewish boy caught up in a confused ant demerit USA. President Lindbergh comes to office as a Nazi sympathizer and his world is turned upside down in parallel to even worse things
Going on in Europe. Well done and well researched with some scary analogIes to 2017-2019 administration of President Trump who may be considered a white supreme cost sympathizer.
