My name is Frank Moon, and I’m in way over my head. We’ve settled in Sanctuary, a neighborhood on the edge of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Having endured gut-wrenching emotional trials and hordes of inhuman enemies, I’ve rapidly become the leader of a small, yet ever-growing, community of survivors. With supplies thinning, I reluctantly agree to return to town for the first time in weeks. My wife and I run into more than just a multitude of murderous monsters. We’re forced into a war between two well-armed human factions. One of the parties is hellbent on claiming Gatlinburg for ...

Great series!
Revisado: 12-27-24
I've grown fond of this series. It's surprisingly good. This virtual voice narrator is okay, but not great. The book, however, is very good. It adds a few more twists than the last one. This book feels like an end to the series, and I guess that's okay. It has a great ending.

My name is Frank Moon, and I have no idea what to expect next. The Unseen are everywhere. The dead are too. Millions are gone, and I’m doing everything I can to keep my family from becoming a part of the rising death toll. We didn’t find Jill’s parents in Florida, but we’re hopeful they’re still alive and hunkered down in their cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I thought things couldn’t get any worse. Nope, once again, I’m dead wrong. When we arrive on the scene, we discover that a whole new horror awaits us. A handful of the Unseen aren’t just ravenous monsters roaming a ...

This series is really good
Revisado: 12-25-24
This isn't the first book in the series, but it is a series I really enjoy. It's a different take on zombies that's been well worth reading. Of all the virtual voice titles I've listened to, I like this one best. I'd still rather have a living narrator, but this is at least bearable. The plot changes a little in this book with some new information, but the characters are still the same lovable people I've come to enjoy. Really good series to listen to.

My favorite in the series!
Revisado: 11-22-24
This book is packed with emotions. Having already read the Kindle version, I told myself I would not cry. I lied. This book starts out innocent enough to take us on a nice little relaxing journey that soon turns to terror, rage, fear, shock, and utter disbelief. I think it's my favorite because this book just goes there - the place that readers don't want a book to go. Hope gets ripped right out from under our feet and we are powerless to do anything more than sit helplessly reading. In the back of my mind, though, I kept telling myself to wait because I knew a spark of hope awaited somewhere. It has to, right? Well done, Mr. Haywood!

Historia
Within seconds, normally rational, self-controlled people become frenzied killers. Christened "Haters" by the media, the attackers strike without warning, killing all who cross their path. People are afraid to go to work, afraid to leave their homes, afraid that at any moment their friends or family could turn on them. In the face of this mindless terror, Danny McCoyne must secure his family, seek shelter, and watch as the world falls apart. "Attack first, ask questions later" becomes the order of the day.

Interesting
Revisado: 07-05-24
I didn't really have high hopes going into this book, but it turned out to be a really good read. The narrator kept me interested throughout the story. The story itself was good. You watch as a man's world slowly descends into madness. There is a level of hypocrisy with the ending, though.

Historia
With their supplies reclaimed and food enough for the future, the group at Barry's cabin can do more than just scrape by. Between fruitful gardens, great friends, and sturdy fences—not to mention karaoke—life in the zompoc is better than ever. Nothing is perfect, however. Across the country, safe zones are mysteriously going dark, and Oregon's summer weather has turned the forest into a tinderbox. As the unknown danger closes in and smoke begins to fill the sky, the survivors are all too aware of how quickly plans unravel, fences fall, and luck runs out.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 07-04-24
It starts off a little slow, with small hills and waves here and there, gradually building. You know something big is coming. Then it goes from a level 2 excitement to level 10 in a matter of seconds. This book packs a powerful punch, and it hits hard. I was anxious, terrified, horrified, sickened, and grief stricken. Wow! Before reading this one, I was thinking about how much I liked Sarah Lyons Fleming's The City series. It was my favorite of her series until this book. I didn't think this series would ever top that, but this book blew that series out of the water. Amazing and incredible book! The performance was excellent too.

The story for this one is fun. It falls in line with the author's other books. I wanted a good monster story and that's exactly what I got. Very fun read! This virtual voice isn't bad, but it's not great either. It was worth listening from the plus catalog.

The story isn't too bad
Revisado: 05-09-24
I'm not a big fan of virtual voice, simply because I'd rather support a true narrator. It's not that bad, but it lacks the inflections and emotions that you get with a real narrator. The story itself is pretty good. It's not big on zombie action, but there is some. It's a bit desolate and lonely at times. I did stay interested in what the character was doing and what was happening with him. There are a lot of books that I start and just can't finish because the story didn't keep me in it. This is not one of those books. This book is good enough that I will have to check out the author to see what else he's got.

Revisado: 03-18-24
The narrator did a fabulous job. This is the first book I've listened to with him narrating.
The story is extremely good. The monsters are terrifying, as are some of the humans. Character development is done well. I felt an emotional connection with some of them. There were a few really good surprises along the way too.

There are a lot of anxiety inducing moments in this book. Our favorite characters go on a pretty wild ride, gathering both people and information. I was on the edge of my seat listening to some of this, and laughing or crying with the characters.

Homeward bound with zombies!
Revisado: 02-14-24
This little series is fantastic! It's a little like the movie Homeward Bound but with zombies. The cat is snarky, the little dog is annoying, and Riley has a big heart. She does what needs to be done to keep the pack safe. There are some sad and disappointing parts in the series, but that keeps the plot moving with high tension and plenty of action. Fabulous story!
