This sci fi/fantacy romance involves two friends who love the same human woman. There is action, mystery, betrayal, a colony in danger and did i mention two hot, extremely relatable friends that are aliens. MMF.

I loved this book when I first read it, and I love it even more listening to it in audiobook. Troy Duran did an amazing job bringing these characters to life!

I loved Angie, Holden, and Ryek. The chemistry between them was sizzling. It was interesting to see how their individual relationships with Angie developed and how they finally came together.

Angie and Holden had been together on and off for years. But no matter what they tried and how much they wanted it to appear, the mating mark never did. Holden loves her and would devote himself to her completely. But Angie wants the security of the mating mark. What would happen if they were committed, but then he found his fated mate? She couldn't bear that, so as much as she loves him, she decides to give him up.

Ryek has always wanted Angie, but held back for Holden's sake as they were close friends and Talleans are very possessive. I found it very interesting that Ryek was born to a triad, and that might be the key to making the mating marks appear. I loved that neither male was aggressive over the other when it came to her, but hated the thought of her with other males. And Angie quickly found that she was just as attracted to Ryek as she was to Holden. But after years of disappointment, can she risk her heart being hurt all over again? I loved the dynamic between these three.

The story had suspense and looming danger from threats from a Dominion attack. A fast-paced fun romance. I think this is the only Lynnea Lee book I read with a threesome relationship and I wish she would write more! (I would love a MMF the most- equal love between all three partners- but MFM makes me happy too!) 5 stars.

My heart hurt for Angie and Holden. They want so much to be mates, but couldn’t seem to get there. And for Ryek who was secretly attracted to Angie, but was best friends with Holden. Their struggle with the bond or lack of one was painful, but so worth it. (Yes, there is an HEA. No I won’t tell you how they get there.)

As always, the action and spice are so good. The scenes between all three. Wow. Just wow. And in Troy Duran’s growly voice. 5/5 for that.

Fans of Susan Hayes or Grace Goodwin will enjoy this one!

I really do love this series. I enjoyed the FMC in this book and the MMCs. I am a sucker for the "why choose" trope and it was done quite well in this story. The narration as always was excellent by Troy Duran. The audiobook is a quick listen and I got through it pretty much in one sitting. Lynne's Lee also always bring the 🌶️🌶️ so if you're looking for a bit of that this book will deliver. The previous books laid the groundwork for the additional world building in this story so I would say it's best to start the series from the beginning. I was already sucked in to the next book by the preview at the end so I'm excited to see what happens with some of the characters we've met before. 🌶️🌶️❤️❤️

Great book, very well written and amazing characters! I like the story of Angie and Holden, they know they belong together and yet in the last couple of years Holden didn’t form a mating bond. When Ryek, who had been very interested in Angie for all those years too, thinks it might be possible the three of them are supposed to be together, Angie isn’t so sure. Angie doesn’t want to come between best friends. Then newsreports mention the Dominion is coming to their planet to attack the colony and imprison all the escaped human slaves to take back to the Dominion. But the people are not going to let that happen, they will defend their new home!
I enjoyed listening to this book very much! The narrator did a great job performing all the characters. He has a very pleasant (and sexy) voice to listen to.
I am a big fan of this author and after listening to this book I want to read the entire series all over again!!

This audiobook was another enjoyable listen in the Tallean Mercenaries series. Troy Duran delivers a solid performance, and the story strikes a good balance between action, romance, and emotional tension.

Ryek and Holden were a great duo—supportive, steady, and fully in once they recognized the bond. Angie had some strong moments, and her internal struggle over the triad relationship made sense, especially early on—but as the story progressed, I sometimes wished she would open up more. Still, her quiet, internal approach felt realistic and very human.

The pacing worked well, and the shared-mate plot, while new to me, was surprisingly satisfying. Some nice additions to the colony’s backstory and Tallean culture made this another strong entry in the series.

WOW! I had forgotten how much I loved this story lol. Hearing Troy bring it to life with his amazing voice just made it that much better. He makes those Tallean men so much sexier than my imagination ever could lol. Not gonna lie, I almost started listening to it again once I was done, it was that good. If you love Lynnea’s books, MFM stories, or anything Troy narrates, then you will LOVE this, believe me. Definitely going on my relisten list ❤️
