Regardless of your own religious or spiritual background, Echols provides a great approach to working with these powerful forces of the universe which have been invaluable allies to the magician and the witch throughout history. He gives a quick run-down of the importance of angels in the world’s mystical traditions from the earliest civilizations to now.

In Angels and Archangels, Echols approaches foundational concepts and practices in the Western Occult Tradition and how angels can be worked with on various levels and degrees of one’s life and magickal practice. The book examines how to work with angels and archangels as an entry point and builds to semi-intermediate occult practices including the LBRP, the Rose Cross and the Shem Operation. There’s also discussion of the Holy Guardian Angel in Western Occultism and how working these ceremonial practices helps one to come closer to their HGA and building and strengthening the magickian’s Light Body.

Echols provides fascinating perspectives related to the archangels that I have never come across before. He also shares some really unique adaptations and purely original techniques and practices that he developed on death row when falsely convicted during the Satanic Panic era, as well as ones he’s developed and modified since through his own personal practice. While still extremely approachable for the beginner, this isn’t your run-of-the mill sugar-coated Hay House book on angels, and is a fantastic book that belongs on every aspiring magickian’s bookshelf, and is one of the eight books that I recommend to witches looking to learn High Ceremonial Magick.

this book is so chock full of information that I listen to it nightly and still learn something new. Even more, I practiced his rituals, invoked angels I needed, and WOW. Within 2 to 3 days, amazing progress and proof that this works. Will use this forever and learn more.

Excellent interpretation of angel magick using the core principles and explaining them in a concise real world clear functioning picture. It shifted my perceptions and work with angels instantly in a very enlightened way. Helped give my sound healing work a new framework to set among my own sound and energy healing practice. I am interested in the follow up book as well as the seraphs were first found from historical data in Ancient Mesopotamia.
Interesting to note as a sound healer, I am grateful to have his audiobook to really hear from his voice, when toning the names, because you can tell the authenticity from his intonations. Great book! -Brien Egan

Absolutely love this book. I been a faithful Christian for over 45 years. I just draw the demons toward me. Always had a target on my back. Now I invoke my Archangels and for the first time in my life, I am getting results and miracles happening. So grateful for Damien Echols. Thank you Damian for enduring all your trials and studying magic and getting this information out there. We have tons of people in life that are in prison within ourselves, even thro we are not physically incarcerated. So appreciate you!

There are moments of extreme clarity offered by the book, but a good chunk of it is just lists of Angels and it feels a bit like listening to a dictionary.

One suggestion is to skip over the lists of angels and their attributes until you need to cross reference them.

Damien's voice is pleasing to hear. The information is solid. It's fascinating to read how the invocation of these intelligences increased the efficacy of his workings. I'm sold.... I've now ordered the book n hardback to bring the archangels to my party.
