this was a very interesting book and I enjoyed it thoroughly! it was well plotted the characters were very engaging and the storyline was interesting.

I can’t say I disliked anything. I was very happy to see the length of the book. I liked the characters. I was intrigued by the portrayal of Richard, Duke of Gloucester.
Also, wow wee what a sexy voice Mr. Jackson has.

Loved this book. Based on the events leading up to the crowning of Richard III of England. The narrator did a fabulous job, imbuing the main character with gravity and romance.

The detailed descriptions of 5th century Britain, the customs, architecture, clothing, food, politics, daily life of the people were mesmerizing.




Insight into Medieval Britain

Complex and fascinating story and setting. There are many descriptions of violence, much of it against our heroine. It is intrinsic to the plot and reflects the period. However, prospective listeners should be forewarned. I loathe describing books with closed door sex as clean. After all, healthy sex is “clean”. In this book, intercourse take place off stage but conversations in the intimate aftermath are quite important.

I enjoyed this book more than I had expected. The story is engaging and the narration is fantastic (and I'm picky about the narrators). This book has all the elements, spying, romance, treachery,history, murder, humor... Wonderful!

Intrigue Abounds

Wonder how many time you have to be kidnapped before you learn who to avoid. Book started out well but started to devolve into a romance novel. Stopped listening about half way through.

Was kind of enjoying this (am a fan of Gildart Jackson) but about 8h in I got tired of the poor woman who seems incapable of defending herself - or even yelling if someone is talking about kidnapping her. Seriously???
