Devil's Island. An abandoned island in the Caribbean Sea with a dark and bloody past. An island with a terrible secret.

Nick Gorman, billionaire movie producer, assembles a team of ghost hunters and scientists to investigate the Thornhill Manor on Devil's Island - the most haunted place in the world that no one's ever heard of. He's there to find proof of ghosts, evidence of an afterlife...but he's also there to uncover the secret that is hidden on the island...to possess it.

The ghost hunting team is led by Shane Edwards who lost his TV show in a scandal and now is a disgrace in the ghost-hunting world; this is his chance to redeem himself and revive his career. But as soon as he steps foot on Devil's Island, he realizes that the fears from the Cranston House, a house he and his friend entered on a dare when they were 12 years old, fears he thought he had overcome, are all coming back. And everyone on the team is facing their darkest fears, the island somehow bringing them to life.

As Nick gets closer to unearthing the secret on the island, Shane begins to wonder if any of them will survive their two night stay on Devil's Island.

I would mark this as a ‘cozy read’ for people who like suspense books. I call it a cozy read because you don’t have to think to much about the story. You just sit back relax and enjoy the ride.

if you've got friends with premium audible accounts and you're picking thru included titles to listen to and talk about together then it's a fun one to text each other about as you're listening, but I wasn't particularly wowed by the story or the writing. it's more like a popcorn thriller

best enjoyed with friends

Fast paced and well done. I sensed I was in good hands from the first chapter. Great story with some twists and an interesting ending.

I almost never write reviews but felt this book deserved it.

Story: you’ve read this book before, or seen the movie. It’s perfectly average. Not bringing anything new to the genre, yet not detracting from it either. The characters are not particularly annoying, though they’re not particularly useful either. There are some genuinely creepy parts but outside of those it never feels dangerous, like there will always be a way out. It’s a turn-your-brain-off book, perfect for a road trip or a couple days at work. I do recommend it if its on sale.

Performance: the actor, for the most part did a pretty solid job of narration. There is a caveat, though: his choices involving the reading of the ladies in this story. Actors make bad decisions from time to time and here is an example of one. They sound like they are on the verge of crying for the entire book, even though they’re not written to be completely helpless. Not as much in the beginning, but once they get in the house its impossible to ignore this poor choice. It would have been 4 stars otherwise.

Great horror story

Once you start you can’t stop. Mystery, horror, and some pretty generic characters keeps things from being too complicated while also keeping you interested and following the story easy enough. Well written and well read. Idk why but it remind me of scooby doo movies where the happenings are real, and in this case, for adults.
