FIND YOUR CREATIVE COURAGE: Transform Your Life Using Everyday Creativity is a six-part course in everyday creativity for everyone. It is designed to revolutionise our thoughts around creativity, and who gets to use it. The common story that ‘Creativity is only for special people with special talents’ is both debilitating, and untrue. In this series, Clare proposes a different theory: each of us holds within us the ability to be uniquely creative. First, we need to learn how to count ourselves into the story, and start considering the possibility that the benefits of cultivating ‘Everyday Creativity’ might actually outweigh the risks. This is a unique concoction of humour, story, scientific research, coaching techniques that Clare created forTame you Inner Critic. She does this with her own narration, guests such as Dr Charlotte Keating and numerous vox pops to create a lively mix of expert insight and listener activities.

Find Your Creative Courage offers a safe and enjoyable place for listeners to begin exploring the question ‘What is Creativity?’ and ‘Is there room in there for me?’ The answer is yes! You just need to fill out a few forms and begin! This series shows you how.

About the Creator & Performer

Clare Bowditch is an Australian musician, author, and broadcaster.
As a musician Clare has recorded five albums and toured with the likes of Leonard Cohen, Cat Power, Snow Patrol and Gotye. She has won an ARIA Award for Best Female Artist, been voted Rolling Stone Woman of the Year (Contribution to Culture), and her work as an actor on hit TV show Offspring was nominated for a Logie.
In October 2019, Bowditch released her first book, Your Own Kind of Girl, a partial memoir from her early life, published in Australian by Allen & Unwin, who acquired the rights after an auction between eight publishers. This won the 2020 Australian Book Industry Awards ‘Best New Australian Author’ award, and was named one of Audible’s ‘Top Twenty Australian Audiobooks.‘ Later that year, this was followed up by the Audible Original podcast series Tame Your Inner Critic.
In her spare time, Bowditch does a lot of public speaking and event-running. She uses humour and the collective terror of 'public-singing' as tools to teach skills around courage and self-leadership.
She lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her husband Marty and their three very tall children.

What a lovely surprise! I expected a boring self-help book, but the narration was so fun and lively that I actually paid better attention. The quotes added were a perfect fit as well.

In a world where being serious seems to be stressed in all areas of life, this book is a treasure. It's full of wonderful ideas and examples of people being creative. It touches on the value of creativity in facing the hardships of life and learning to embrace even failure as a stepping stone to greater growth.

Warm inspiration for reinvigorating life with creativity!

This program was lovely and enjoyable. It made some very nice points about creativity and I feel it is very accessible. There is no threshold or bar of creativity that needs to be met to listen to this. It is for beginners and nonbeginners.

My only criticism is that sometimes it was a bit over the top and seemed childish. I also didn’t enjoy the anecdotes as much and sometimes they made the program drag on a bit.
I would have loved more neuroscience and more suggestions about creative applications. A few more resources would have been useful.
Even still, this was a wonderful program and I enjoyed it.

It is accessible to anyone who finds creativity difficult or daunting!!

The ideas here won’t be new to anyone who has spent time studying creativity, but everyone can use a quick refresher sometimes, and Claire (with special appearances by Big Guy and the Brains Trust) presents these foundational concepts in a fun, fresh and accessible way.

Absolutely wonderful book. Fresh perspective, inspiring and accessible for all. Highly recommend this book! The narration is soothing and I already listened to it again. Lots of great, tips and techniques without having to spend money on new materials. Thank you author and team!
