I live in the area and the mixture of the past and present - folklore and fact is wonderful. I was here before East Bay Regional Park obtained the land and used to hear all the stories of the white witch. Loved the book but did not care for the accents nor the singing.

the reading is in the tone of a PBS children's book. There is singing and offensive off putting fake accents

The story itself wasn't enough to keep me, especially after the book opens with a damsel in distress feminine lead being Protected by the masculine lead.

Deleting from my library and moving on.
