A young lady's tarnished reputation might cost her everything in this first book in the Disreputable Debutantes series.

But how does one catch a rake?

Nate Hastings, the devil-may-care Viscount Malverne, is the older brother of Sophie's best friend, fellow disgraced debutante Lady Charlotte. When a terribly foxed Nate accidentally compromises Sophie, Charlotte strikes a wicked bargain: in order to avoid a scandal and the parson's mousetrap, Nate must help Sophie snare a husband. But as Nate fulfills his obligation and begins to instruct the lovely Sophie in the art of luring rakes, he soon finds himself battling his own fierce attraction to her.

Good story line. Good character development. Some of the dialogue between the main characters during intimacy was a bit silly and left me thinking who says that during sex. And the reason the Viscount couldn’t love Sophie was weak. With that said, I still enjoyed the book. I would recommend.

The reader was great and did a fairly believable naughty count voice. I really like that the story line was not wholly predictable or saccharine. It dug a little deeper into what it meant to be shunned. Bravo. Regency romance with an edge. Well worth a listen for those that think they can charm the stripes off a tiger -only to discover a pussy cat. Wishful thinking to some degree, but isn’t that what romance is all about?

This book was such a joy to listen to. I was laughing and crying. The characters are so rich and full of fun. I couldn't put it down. I was swept away. looking forward to reading/listening to more by this author and hopefully the reader as well. 5 stars all the way.

Decent story, no rambling mental dialogue. I'm not a fan of the narrator as most of the male voices sound sneering , pompous men even when they are friends but don't let that stop your from listening.

Just as a Historical romance should be

Despite a few very awkward mispronunciations, the story is engaging and the chemistry between the H and h is both sweet and steamy. I definitely recommend it.

Great story about strong, brilliant women determined not to settle but set their own standards. This group of friends are thick as thieves and will settle for nothing less than what they deserve. Light, well written story and good narrator.

In my opinion, this wasn't as good as Amy Rose Bennett's "Byronic Book Club" series, but I still found this to be a sweet historical romance. There was plenty of heat and humor, and I found myself chuckling at some of Nate and Sophie's banter. I especially liked the strong female friendships in this series.

While I enjoyed this book, there were moments when it wasn't my favorite. At times Nate and his antics felt very juvenile and it took away from the romance for me. There was also an overwhelming amount of lust being cultivated and not so much emotional bonding between Sophie and Nate. And I'm not sure that by the end I bought that they were deeply in love with each other. They never really spent any quality time together that didn't involve sex.

Overall, I did enjoyed this historical romance and am continuing in the series.

Cute Banter and Great Female Friendships...

Romance titles are not my cup of tea. However, I often enjoy a romance that has a big dose of mystery. In order to really to appreciate a romance novel I prefer something more than a love lost and a love found storyline; throw in a little mystery, intrigue, and/or crime.
