Respects the historical events, and is very convincing and original regarding the sailing and sea battles. I’ve read them all - POB, Hornblower, Bolitho, and this stands up to any of them. This whole series is well worth a read. It’s interesting to have a different perspective with the RN as the bad guys.

I think ive read every historical fiction for the age of sail. The events in this book are wonderfully original and doesn't rely on old tropes. I enjoyed it immensely.

Wow. What brilliant writing, storyline and historical accuracy. Nelson knows ships and he knows History. Combining them in this series is a treat for ALL. My 4th in this series. Now on to the 5th and 6th!
