Acerca de esta escucha

For the Shwartz family, survival was the only option. Their will to live, and a bit a luck, kept the family safe during the Holocaust, bringing them across Eastern Europe all the way to Israel.

In 1937, the Shwartz family lived a calm life in their small village in Poland. Fifteen-year-old Rachel liked to sing and go out dancing at a local night club, while her older brother David was busy running a farm and raising a family with his wife Hinda. But all that changed when the war reached Butla.

First, the Russians came and kicked them out of their house. Then, the Nazis came to cart them off. But the Shwartz family resisted. David decided that no matter what, his family would not be taken captive. Instead, he snuck his family out of their village, through a large forest, and into Hungary, a place that was supposed to be safe. But that didn't last long. Again the Shwartz family found themselves on the run, escaping prison, Nazis, and bombings.

My Family's Survival is the incredible true story of how the Shwartz family survived the Holocaust. It is a powerful tale of one family's triumph during history's darkest moments.

I loved it. Given my family background, I was worried that it would tear open new wounds. But it didn’t it always had a feeling of hope, and the ending was heartwarming and realistic.

A heart warming tale

I really enjoyed this audio version. Good character development A lot of close calls for this Jewish family. Good and bad gentiles and Jews alike This family sure traveled a lot to stay one step ahead of the nazi. A lot of close calls and God watched over them because at least several families stayed intact

Very interesting story

A courageous family. Happy they survived. Sad their families didn’t. Each individual story was very moving.

The story flowed so nicely. I appreciated all of the information that was given before thr story began. The narrators did so well.

I loved how the personalities developed of each of the characters, and the way that the children were so resourceful and independent! The ending was very disappointing to me, but, real life is not very neat and tidy sometimes.

Did not like the ending… But!

This was an amazing read. Well written and the narration was perfect. This book shared details that you would never know unless you lived during that time. It gives the reader a glimpse into the lives of so many ppl & what they had to endure. To of survived under such harsh conditions w/almost no food or even proper clothing to keep warm is just astonishing to me. It has made me realize how ppl take 4 granted the little things in life, like having a warm bed to sleep in each night or food 2 eat daily.. Or even the gift of education for children, the ability to go to whatever store you may want to go to or being able 2 go to the movies. All these little things were not a possibility 4 so many ppl. what's really disheartening is the fact that so many children and adults were killed off simply 4 having any type of defect or disability or even just being old. If they thought you were unfit, not strong enough or if you couldn't add anything 2 their cause then they'd just kill you 2 save the money it would take them to keep u alive. This book seriously should be read in schools all around the world to help educate ppl of how life was during WW2..

A must read 4 all young and old..‼️..
