I thought the mystery was semi-interesting and I didn't see the very last reveal coming. However, as the story unfolded, I found myself not liking any of the melodramatic characters or their "noble," but uninformed sacrifices. Forensics should be able to differentiate between blunt force trauma and a gun shot wound, especially when convient confessions don't match the all the evidence. Fortunately it's short.

I did not see that ending coming! It took me a bit to get into this, but once I did, I was hooked. I honestly wasn’t sure what was going to happen the entire time that I was listening. I binged this on less than a day. Definitely recommend the audiobook,

📚Honest Review📚

This is certainly one of Modglin’s best domestic thrillers I’ve come to read so far! Of course, with the exception of her amazing trilogy!

Small town, lots of secrets, old murders and new disappearances make this novel absolutely thrilling and one is unable to stop. I read it in one sitting and the plot twist, that Modglin’s plot twist always delivers!

If you’re in the mood for a good thriller with all the elements of human nature, you’ll find that monsters live among us. Oh, they do.

She’s the queen of domestic thrillers!

I really love a thriller that can pull me in and move at a pretty fast pace! I really enjoyed this book and loved that it kept me guessing! This one had some great twists!

The first half of it was good but it fell apart pretty quickly. I kept listening because it was almost entertainingly dumb but then it got worse. I skipped the last two chapters because I just couldn't.
