The less stuff you have the better it is on your mental health. This is a great way to remove and decuster stuff so you don't have to always be stressing with a overfilled home. It also a lot easier to clean if you dont have as much stuff in your home.

I’ll be honest — when I first heard the phrase “Swedish Death Cleaning,” I thought it sounded… But Mia Andersson lays out here isn’t depressing — it’s freeing. It’s not about preparing for death, it’s about living better while you’re here. It’s about taking ownership of your stuff before it owns you, and doing it in a way that’s thoughtful, not overwhelming. I've read and listened to a lot of book about decluttering... but this one felt personal by getting the the WHY...why are you holding on, why is it so hard to let go, etc.

If you’re downsizing or simplifying… read this. It's more than a how-to guide — it’s a mindset shift...Highly recommend.

This book is what I needed to hear. With lots of junk I don't need or use at home, this book is right on time. I was so informed and motivated, I started decluttering while listening to the book. Hearing that we don't need to keep every gift we get was the transformative gem I needed to hear! This book is a must-read if you are ready to regain control of your living space.

This book offered a really unique perspective on cleaning and I’m excited to try out the techniques this book offered! I like how this book offers ideas to declutter your home in a way that doesn’t create pressure. Often times I get too overwhelmed by the thought of cleaning so it never gets done.

An interesting take on cleaning!

I just finished "Swedish Death Cleaning," and honestly, it's not as morbid as it sounds! Mia Andersson has this really calm and practical approach to decluttering that actually made sense to me. I especially appreciated how she talked about dealing with sentimental stuff without making you feel guilty for wanting to keep some of it. It's more about being thoughtful about what you have and making things easier for your loved ones down the road, which felt really considerate. If you're feeling overwhelmed by clutter but the whole minimalist thing feels too extreme, this book offers a much gentler and more humane way to approach it.

It’s not about death. I was a little worried when I picked this out but it’s not about cleaning a house of a deceased loved one. This is a much more emotional and less spiritual approach to cleaning and not just decluttering. It’s really about why we hold onto stuff and how to let it go. How to crate a mindset that we don’t need stuff anymore.

Great take on cleaning, not decluttering.

This audiobook came into my life at the perfect time. Swedish Death Cleaning offers a gentle, thoughtful approach to decluttering that feels nothing like the overwhelming “toss everything now” mentality of extreme minimalism. It helped me reframe the way I think about my possessions—less as burdens and more as opportunities for clarity.

I especially appreciated the exercises in Chapters 3 and 6. Chapter 6, Creating Order in Everyday Spaces, was a turning point for me. I followed along step by step and completely shifted the energy in my office. It didn’t just look better—it felt better. Lighter. Calmer. Like I had finally made space for fresh ideas and creativity to flow.

What I loved most was the book’s kind tone. There’s no shame, no pressure—just practical wisdom rooted in a deep respect for both the past and the life you want to create moving forward. Highly recommend to anyone feeling weighed down by clutter or emotionally stuck in their space.
