Acerca de esta escucha

After the loss of a child along with a slew of agonizing misfortunes, Nick and Jess decide to end their lives. Unable to cope with the misery that fills their days, they commit one last act together and die in loving relief.

But when Nick wakes up, he soon realizes that death isn't the gentle darkness he expected. Panicked and horrified, he struggles to understand the twisted abominations and hellish world he's now trapped in.

Driven by desperation and a sudden will to survive, he sets out to find Jess and is unable to cope with the thought of her having to suffer through the terrors this new reality holds.

But nothing could prepare him for the nightmares he found...nothing could prepare him for the Black Farm.

The author is seriously twisted in the head…. And I love it. Horror books consistently fail to put me on the edge of my seat… much less “scare” me. This book though… just wow. Brace yourself for one scene in particular that was extremely difficult to listen through. My skin crawled, my soul ached.. I wanted to scream for the character and delete the book. That’s when I decided it deserved 5 stars!

I thought I could handle anything until hearing this book.. ☠️

got gifted this, it was talked up pretty good and did not disappoint, but for some reason ch18 is stitched onto the end of 17 then plays as a new chapter. just sayin.

Wild ride

There are a lot of scenes in this book that are absolutely disgusting and in gruesome detail. Including rape, gore, cannibalism and brutal violence. However if you can get past that I thought this book was awesome and the narrator did an excellent job with this. I found the characters likable and Nick goes beast mode for most of the book it’s badass.

Brutal.

I've read a few messed up books (Woom, Brother, Tender is the Flesh etc...) and never have I cringed so much. I'm only a couple of hours in and it has already gotten to me. I was looking for something that would really get and hold my attention and, let me tell you, I found it. it's been amazing so far and I look forward to listening as often as I can. My only issue is that it should maybe have a couple of trigger warnings. A heads up would've been great but it's whatever. I would only recommend this for folks that enjoy extreme horror. Would 100% suggest it to a fellow weirdo lol

Indescribable

Based on the cover I foolishly assumed this to be another generic scary story filled with predictable plot points, characters, “surprises” and violence. I could not have been more wrong. The Black Farm managed to create such a unique and terrifying environment that satisfied a certain itch I have for stories of people finding themselves in hell or some other awful realm/plane of existence and having to figure out how to survive. Creepy, disgusting, dark and full of imagination, this book managed to tell a story that I had no idea what would happen and I was on the edge of my seat the whole book. Add into it a fantastic narrator and this book has found itself added to a select group of books that will stick with me long after reading them.

Definitely recommend if you don’t mind extreme violence.

More than just a generic horror book

I never leave a comment for a book unless it really deserves it. I’m going to have to wait a long time to come across a horror book as good as this one. What a story.

This book is definitely intense and graphic but never in a way that feels graphic just for shock value sake, it always adds to the story and goes along with what is happening. The story itself is so interesting and if you want to get a feel for it I'd highly recommend listening to Feed The Pig on The NoSleep Podcast (same author and there's a scene in the book that is also in that story, from a different perspective). The story is brutal and unforgiving and exactly what I wanted from it, the violence and horror and lore are all amazing. If you like brutal horror this is definitely the book for you!

INTENSE and probably one of my all time favorites
