Scott Grant has a bustling family practice in the small Oregon community of Thunder Point. The town and its people have embraced the widowed doctor and father of two, his children are thriving, and Scott knows it's time to move on from his loss. But as the town's only doctor, the dating pool is limited. That is, until a stunning physician's assistant applies for a job at his clinic.

Peyton Lacoumette considers herself entirely out of the dating scene. She's already been burned by a man with kids, and she's come to Thunder Point determined not to repeat past mistakes. When Scott offers her a job, at a much lower salary than she's used to, Peyton is surprisingly eager to accept… at least for now. She's willing to stay for a three-month trial period while she explores other options. Scott and Peyton know the arrangement is temporary - it isn't enough time to build a real relationship, never mind anything with lasting commitment. But love can blossom faster than you think when the timing is right, and this short visit just might hold the promise of forever.

Just learning how to use audible. I am an 80 year old woman who is losing her eyesight. I am learning to love audible books. Now if I can learn to download them easier ill be all set.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Therese Plummer's performance are top rate, she can do men's voices, children s, of course all the women's. She's one of the best.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I love The Promise, it was all she it would be, I cannot not wait for the next book.. I started listening to Robyn book with Thunder Point, and will be so saddened when they end. I want to live in this make believe town. In my mind when I listen or read, I live in Thunder Point and love everyone who move there.

Any additional comments?

Once again another great book from Robyn Karr, it is magnificent, great to listen to.. Now waiting on the next one. Scott and Payton have two things in common. the love of medicine. They fell in love, and it was a sweet sensual love. Kudo's to Robyn for writing this and introducing us to Scott and to others along the way.It's worth the credit, buy it if you must but read the Promise, it's wonderful.

Well developed characters, interesting background information on places and general problems that are part of most of our lives. Very good narration too

Possible Spoilers:
Peyton Lacoumette is vacationing nearby when she sees the advertisement looking for a Physician’s Assistant at the Thunder Point Clinic. Dr Scott Grant is practically speechless at this beautiful polished woman even considering the job. Peyton sees the community and the determination to help each other and decides to help while she’s job searching. Dr Grant & Peyton agree on three months. Peyton left a financially and professionally successful practice and is looking for another. What she’s trying to get over is the severance of both a professional and personal relationship she had with the cardiologist. Peyton soon finds herself joining in with local citizens & activities. And drawing ever closer to Dr Grant, whom she admires profoundly for his genuine goodness. She’s charmed by both Jenny and Will and brings the Grants along to visit her family farm. She loves them all. Peyton just has to overcome some baggage from the past and Dr Grant has to get over a raging case of jealousy.
Plummer does another excellent job with narration.
