enjoyed this story and narrator

The narrarator did a good job diversifying the characters voices, but the accent sounded more like Georgia than Texas.

Having completed his sentence for the unintentional crime that derailed his youthful plans for fame and fortune, Levi Grant looks to start over in the town of Spencer, Texas. Spencer needs a blacksmith, a trade he learned at his father's knee, and he needs a place where no one knows his past. But small towns leave little room for secrets...
Eden Spencer has sworn off men, choosing instead to devote her time to the lending library she runs. When a mountain-sized stranger walks through her door and asks to borrow a book, she steels herself against the attraction he provokes. His halting speech and hesitant manner leave her doubting his intelligence. Yet as the mysteries of the town's new blacksmith unfold, Eden discovers hidden depths in him that tempt her heart.
Levi's renewed commitment to his faith leads Eden to believe she's finally found a man of honor and integrity, a man worthy of her love. But when the truth about his prodigal past comes to light, can this tarnished hero find a way to win back the librarian's affections?
MY TAKE
I really enjoyed this story. Eden and Levi are adorable, and I totally fell in love with him. They each have their vulnerabilities. Eden probably struggles the most with her internal conflicts, but she's got a great heart and I love how Cloe helps Eden to see that she's being a "rock thrower." It was a wonderful moment.
I knew early on who the man was who attempted to assault Cloe, so that was no surprise. Seriously creepy man. *shudders* This book is kind of violent toward the end. I had to skip forward. I didn't need that much detail to know what was going on.

This was a good story, but I really dislike when author's characters are so uncertain about everything and, "surely this couldn’t happen, and "how come this" and "why that?" It’s just filler and it gets tiresome.
The frequent romantic gushing seemed melodramatic and ridiculous. Just tell the story! Obviously, we want some romance, but most of us are not middle school kids.
Though the narrator did an amazing job with several accents and acting, I found many of her men’s voices silly and unrealistic. When they are painting a picture for you using their voices, it’s really important to be accurate. Some of the southern accents were over the top. When she was speaking in character, I thought her voice quality was good, but I found the slight groan her narration bothersome.
If not for these things, I would’ve given it a five.
Good, But...
