This book provides extremely useful tips and lessons on how to lead a successful business career. This book doesn’t waste time with complicated explanations, rather, it emphasizes simplicity for your listening (and reading) pleasure. The writing is understandable, offering helpful and realistic examples on how to utilize and approach situations in the best way possible. It is a must read for business. Additionally, the writing is incredibly inspiring and encourages readers.

As someone that is conducting a small business of my own, I found numerous points as insightful, and I plan to apply them! It is, no doubt, the best amount of information on this subject- in only an hour no less! The author appears to be highly practiced in business, his own insight on every topic only makes this book so much more relatable to the readers and easily digestible. The performance done by the narrator is also phenomenal.

Must Read Book for Business

This is an easy read and yet very informative. And now that it’s available as an audiobook it’s even better! No matter how little or how much experience you have- you will find practical tips and tried tricks that will help you succeed in your business and in life. If you are just getting started on a new business you will find that there are shortcuts that come from a higher level of experience to save you time by doing common sense applications you might not have thought of yourself but are tried-and-true. I am not a traditional businesswoman, but I do own my own business and do sell a product to the public- I found a lot of useful information in this book that I can start applying to my own business today that I KNOW will help it grow. I found this audiobook to be surprisingly energizing and it got me pumped with new ideas! Remember the 4 M’s and GIGO! Well written, easy to understand and so much information packed into just an hour! You can easily listen to it several times as a “refresher course” and not get tired of it. Highly recommended!

I don't have a lot of time to review these days, but I accepted Antonio Paez's review request for Tools to Succeed for two reasons: 1) It's only an hour long and 2) I felt it was extremely relevant to me.

As a small business owner, I'm constantly looking for ways to improve. As soon as I heard the sample for Tools to Succeed, I knew that this audiobook would be an invaluable asset to me. I've never had any kind of formal business education, so Tools to Succeed was a welcome listen. As I was listening to the sample and debating whether or not I could get anything of value from listening to the entire audiobook, I found myself taking mental notes of valuable tidbits, just from the sample. I knew that if I was already deriving value from a <5-minute sample, the full audiobook was definitely worth hearing!

I was not wrong. Paez's concise writing style was extremely digestible. Some of the information discussed in Tools to Succeed is bound to be basic to those already well-immersed in the business world, but to me, it was enlightening. Tools to Succeed is a great introduction to business. Paez utilizes inspirational quotes from recognizable figures, primarily Albert Einstein, to motivate the listener and drive salient points home. He breaks the audiobook up into four main points, using the four Ms: Mindset, Money, Marketing, and Management.

Certain portions of the audiobook were more relevant to me than others. As a one person business, the bits about delegation and management don't necessarily apply to me right now, but they may in the future. I found the chapter on God out-of-place and distracting. As someone who does not regard herself as a faith-based individual, that chapter was not only irrelevant to me and even a bit disconcerting in a title that isn't specifically marketed to persons of faith. In an audiobook that's only an hour long, I was disappointed to have not been able to get anything out of an entire chapter in it. If I had been reading this of my own accord and not as a review request, I would have skipped over it entirely. However, I can see that religious individuals would gain inspiration from applying the "let go and let God" attitude to their business, as well as personal life. If you are a faith-based individual, this complaint will likely not apply to you. If you are not, I recommend skipping the chapter. It isn't very long.

Other than that, I can't tell you how much I got out of listening to Tools to Succeed. It's a one hour version of a Business 101 course at the cost of $4.86! I definitely plan on listening to it again, probably multiple times. I really want to internalize the individual concepts. I like that the audiobook download comes with PDF charts that are frequently referenced during the audiobook. During my first time listening, I was not in place to look at these reference materials, but I plan on studying them in detail during my next listen. While listening, I had the frequent urge to take notes. Paez offers multiple nuggets of wisdom that I want to remember. But since I was listening in the car, I'll have to take notes during my next listen, as well.

Paez not only covers 101 topics, but also some more in-depth business models and concepts. Towards the end of the audiobook, he begins referencing specific number related examples. I'm particularly eager to re-listen to and further process these sections. I view Tools to Succeed as valuable reference material and I will doubtlessly be putting the concepts learned in it to immediate use in my business.

Narration review: Pam Rossi provided a clear, articulate, and easy listening experience. Her pacing was natural and she held my interest effortlessly. She presented the concepts discussed in a professional manner that allowed me to concentrate on the topic at hand, rather than her narration. The recording was high-quality and contained no distracting elements. If you are interested in Tools to Succeed, the audiobook comes with my highest recommendation. ♣︎

Business 101: Valuable Info; Concise Presentation

Very concise description of business principals accompanied with easy to understand examples. It also discusses some important lessons applicable in not only business but also every day life, such as treating people with respect and understand that God may be teaching you a very important lesson, or leading you to a different outcome that you hadn’t seen coming. The author gives a good description of the importance of financial statements and the need to know how to read and understand their impacts. The only addition I would make to that segment is that a lot of businesses are in business today because nobody reads the footnotes to financial statements. Well done.

A business degree in one hour

This book is a must for anyone contemplating starting or growing a business, whether a small company or an ice cream cart. There is no jargon here; it is written in a way so that non business majors can understand.
Examples are broad and include everything from big business to flea market transactions. The information is applicable to everything in life, not only business. I especially enjoyed the section on integrity and ethics. More business resources should include such material.

Great book on the basics

The length of this audiobook (1 hr) is perfect, especially for a long commute. This book has a ton of real-world experience examples as well as explanations of basic and advanced topics. It's made very clear that the author has a lot of experience in the world of business, this isn't a business professor telling you how things should be theoretically, it's a guy that's been through it and wants to help others struggling to make their business a success. Complicated concepts, such as arbitrage, are explained clearly and concisely. This book would make a great gift for anyone looking to learn about business. I would recommend this book for all experience levels. You will get a lot out of it and probably listen to it multiple times!
