This program is read by the author and an exciting cast of readers including Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. Also included are the winning fan submissions from the Macmillan Audio When to Jump contest.
An inspirational audiobook that lays out the "Jump Curve" - four steps to wholeheartedly pursuing the career of your dreams - through experiences from a variety of people who have jumped and never looked back
When Mike Lewis was 24 and working in a prestigious corporate job, he eagerly wanted to leave and pursue his dream of becoming a professional squash player. But he had questions: When is the right time to move from work that is comfortable to a career you have only dared to dream of? How have other people made such a jump? What did they feel when making that jump - and afterward?
Mike sought guidance from others who had "jumped", and the responses he got - from a banker who started a brewery, a publicist who became a bishop, a garbage collector who became a furniture designer, and on and on - were so clear-eyed and inspiring that Mike wanted to share what he had learned with others who might be helped by those stories. First, though, he started playing squash professionally.
The right audiobook at the right time, When to Jump offers more than 40 heartening stories (from the founder of Bonobos, the author of The Big Short, the designer of the Lyft logo, the Humans of New York creator, and many more) and takeaways that will inspire, instruct, and reassure, including the ingenious four-phase Jump Curve.

Very insightful and a great read

Exactly what I needed to hear.

Interwoven with the stories is some solid advice that can be used to guide you in your JUMP. I've started my plan to JUMP because I know that I can no longer ignore or push down the voice inside me that is wanting out.
If you hear that voice inside telling you to JUMP, you are not alone.
Do you hear a voice inside you?

Most but not all came from an exceptionally financially fortunate position of having a great job and deciding to jump from it Rather than coming from a very average or disadvantaged background and having to jump to it.
What was absent and shouldn't have been present is a situation like mine.
It's not because I'm special but because I probably make up the majority of those who want to or in the process of jumping.
I didn't like the complete absence of people Who are in the process of or have jumped but wanted it badly enough to actually take a job they may hate in order to facilitate the jump in the future.
There was a concerning lack of defining how it turned out for each person, especially towards the " failure " end and what they are doing now.
Most of the people were successful in their jump and it's easy to talk about. it doesn't matter whether you succeed or fail when you succeed.
At 57 my jump has still not yet been successful they need to address this very real fact that there is a real and potentially long-term cost for doing such a jump.
I would have liked To have seen More examples of people either still in their jump or who didn't achieve their jump.
I also, would have to know the status and satisfaction of those of everyone whether they were successful in process or unsuccessful at their jumps.
It matters tremendously. The author seems to have ignored, or hidden those results to focus primary on the famous & unknown successes.
Adding the current status of each person would have been added tremendous value especially since it's not clear whether it was intentionally omitted.
A jumper in progress.
The survivorship bias for successes and unscientific delusion that we should always trust our gut.
