They finished the regular season as the No. 1 SEC football team, only losing twice to Georgia—once in Austin and once in Atlanta—while winning all their other games and advancing to the SEC Championship Game. Look back at last season's game vs Ohio State, an elite team led by a Top 2 coach in America in Ryan Day. The Nebraska Cornhuskers fought and nearly won, but fell short 21-17. USC Recruiting Is On Fire: Why I'm Buying Into USC FootballI am buying stock in USC Football because everything seems to align in Los Angeles. The Trojans are recruiting at a high level, earning the commitments of high caliber, 4-star quarterback Jonas Williams and Simote Katoanga in the past three days. More importantly, Lincoln Riley has men like D'Anton Lynn, Dennis Simmons, Eric Henderson, Rob Ryan, and Doug Belk on his staff who are elite coaches in multiple facets. I don't know if USC will become the towering monster that Ohio State Football or Oregon Football is right now, or that Michigan Football and Penn State Football can be with their resources (moving to a new conference, one where its geographic base is outside of your state, is hard). Still, I believe USC has a realistic shot at becoming the cream of the crop in the Big Ten, and at least becoming an annual College Football Playoff contender.We talk about all of this and more in this episode of College Football with Sam. What Nebraska Football Gets In Rocco Spindler & Elijah Pritchett The Nebraska Cornhuskers received a commitment from former Notre Dame guard Rocco Spindler on Sunday afternoon. Spindler joins incoming transfer Elijah Pritchett and 4 other incoming high schoolers in becoming Nebraska Football offensive linemen. Matt Rhule and Donovan Raiola get raw talent in both Spindler and Pritchett, but more importantly, Spindler provides all-Big Ten caliber play, allowing only 6 QB pressures and no sacks in 14 games in 2024. Quarterback Dylan Raiola will thrive behind a good offensive line, and with Spindler enrolling, I can confidently say that Nebraska will have a Big Ten caliber offensive line, just below or around the likes of Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Oregon, etc, for the first time under Matt Rhule.
