  • The Commodification of Pregnancy
    May 23 2025

This week, Debi and Sam host a solo episode to discuss some of the ethical concerns within the big money business of the fertility industry.

This is an episode you may want to preview before allowing young children to listen.

Debi and Sam discuss the dangers of egg harvesting. Many young women get ads luring them to sell their eggs. This is also a procedure that is required for both IVF and surrogacy. However, few are talking about the immediate and long-term consequences of this procedure and the fact that it often involves the exploitation of young women.

They also discuss some of the ethical concerns for both mother and child with both IVF and surrogacy. Just because we CAN do something, does not always mean we SHOULD. Research more with the following links.

    May 16 2025

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Aubrey Matthesius, co-campus pastor at Dream City Church

Aubrey, Debi and Sam talk about the views and parenting styles of Millennials and Gen Z.

So many young women have been either fearful of motherhood or feel as though it is a negative experience. Aubrey talks about how she never held a baby or changed a diaper until she had her own child a little over a year ago. She had to re-evaluate her own views on motherhood. Now she is trying to reframe the narrative for other young women so they can see they joy in the experience.

Aubrey also talked about getting "old school" parenting tips from older women in the church that have made parenting much more practical and less stressful. She recently shared some of these tips on social media and her videos went viral, showing that there is a desire among other women to have positive, practical conversations about parenting.

  • Diving into DEI w/ Goldwater Institute
    May 8 2025

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Jenna Bentley, director of government affairs, and Matt Beienburg, director of education policy at Goldwater Institute.

Debi, Sam, Jenna and Matt discuss the ballot initiative process and the need to prohibit DEI in state law.

In Arizona, there are multiple ways to get a proposition on the ballot. It can be confusing for voters, especially since our laws differ from other states. Jenna breaks down the process, and Debi talks about why it is important to fully vet signature campaigns before helping to get something on the ballot.

Matt discussed why an executive order does not solve the DEI problem and how multiple states are drafting legislation to protect their constituents beyond the current presidential administration.

  • Holding the Line in California w/ Dave Ansell
    May 2 2025

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Dave Ansell, pastor of the Scottsdale campus of Dream City Church.

Pastor Dave was a pastor in California prior to joining the Dream City family. He talked about living and holding church services in southern California during the COVID lockdowns and how his eyes were opened to the manipulation and control that was happening. It was ok to protest in the streets and go to pot dispensaries, but churches were supposed to stay closed and singing wasn't allowed. He eventually took a stand and opened his church when few others in his state were willing.

Pastor Dave, Sam and Debi also talked about the difference that church communities can make, even in states that are hostile to Christians. They talked about the two California campuses of Dream City Church and how God is moving in those communities.

  • Sex Crimes and the Internet w/ Peter Gentala
    Apr 17 2025

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Peter Gentala, president of the Center for Arizona Policy. Peter was formerly an attorney with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

Please note that while this episode is not sexually explicit, it does discuss adult topics. Please preview before allowing young children to listen.

Peter, Debi, and Sam discuss the issue of sexual exploitation of minors on the internet, including the growing number of "sextortion" cases. In those instances, teenage boys are either enticed, tricked or threatened into sending sexually explicit content to someone who then blackmails them. There have been a number of suicides connected to this crime.

Peter, Debi, and Sam discuss the need to change some of our federal and state-level laws to better protect victims and to prevent the targeting of children. This includes a need to revisit Section 230, which shields internet companies from liability for actively distributing or refusing to remove child sexual abuse material. (CSAM)
