I am an MMA fan who has participated in most capacities you can. I've had a few Amateur and Pro fights (and to be clear I was not good) and I've done some refereeing, judging and grunt work at events. And of course I've been watching MMA since UFC 31 so over 20 years of obsessed fandom.


I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jistu and a little bit of Mixed Martial Arts. Join me as I review events, make predictions and talk about the important topics in the world of MMA.

    I hate to be negative like this because the bookings on this card largely make sense, the name value is solid, the general fighter caliber is fine but the card is pretty bad.


    This card suffers from a lot of long odds (7 favorites of more than -400). It suffers from 2 title fights that are justifiable but not interesting because Women's Bantamweight is well a mess and Sean O'Malley doesn't seem to have taken the right lessons from losing to Merab Dvalishvili and is getting a rematch anyways. Sucks the life out of the card.


    Bright side welcome to the UFC Patchy Mix. Joshua Van is super fun. And Luque/Holland has the makings of a pretty entertaining fight along with Pyfer/Gastelum.

    Well that was something.......


    A canceled main event minutes before, 2 botched weigh ins on top of that and a lost fight the day before. The remainder wasn't a strong showing from the UFC (2 fights were pretty bad) but I can't say I was letdown, things went as expected.


    After the fight review there is a rant defending Women's MMA, not in its entirety as much as rebutting some specific dumb takes. Feel free to skip that if you don't need that.

    The UFC graces the Apex once again but we do get a meaningful main event, a ranked fighter in the co-main and another ranked fight on the card. So better than the prior offerings.


    Still we do have some let's say filler on the card in terms of fighters that do not reflect well on what UFC Caliber currently is. And a great scramble fight on the undercard.
