I hate to be negative like this because the bookings on this card largely make sense, the name value is solid, the general fighter caliber is fine but the card is pretty bad.

This card suffers from a lot of long odds (7 favorites of more than -400). It suffers from 2 title fights that are justifiable but not interesting because Women's Bantamweight is well a mess and Sean O'Malley doesn't seem to have taken the right lessons from losing to Merab Dvalishvili and is getting a rematch anyways. Sucks the life out of the card.

Bright side welcome to the UFC Patchy Mix. Joshua Van is super fun. And Luque/Holland has the makings of a pretty entertaining fight along with Pyfer/Gastelum.

Well that was something.......

A canceled main event minutes before, 2 botched weigh ins on top of that and a lost fight the day before. The remainder wasn't a strong showing from the UFC (2 fights were pretty bad) but I can't say I was letdown, things went as expected.

After the fight review there is a rant defending Women's MMA, not in its entirety as much as rebutting some specific dumb takes. Feel free to skip that if you don't need that.

The UFC graces the Apex once again but we do get a meaningful main event, a ranked fighter in the co-main and another ranked fight on the card. So better than the prior offerings.

Still we do have some let's say filler on the card in terms of fighters that do not reflect well on what UFC Caliber currently is. And a great scramble fight on the undercard.

The UFC returns to Canada and it's a double title fight card that is a pair of well deserving challengers (especially Manon Fiorot) and that should make me excited. It's just both of those title fights have some grind aspects to them and might not be great. Still it's a card full of UFC Caliber fighters and I'm hoping for some UFC caliber action.

The UFC heads to Kansas City with a card that lacks rank fights or ones with a lot of relevancy but mostly fun fights that should be a good night of viewing. So I'd call this a thumbs in the middle card.

But I do say that as a guy who doesn't really care for Ian Machado Garry but also doesn't hate him, so your mileage may vary. Though that Anthony Smith co-main is.........not good feelings for me.
