About the Creator and Performer

Michelle Robinson Obama served as First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, Mrs. Obama started her career as an attorney at the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she met her future husband, Barack Obama. She later worked in the Chicago mayor's office, at the University of Chicago, and at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Mrs. Obama also founded the Chicago chapter of Public Allies, an organization that prepares young people for careers in public service.
The Obamas currently live in Washington, DC, and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Michelle Obama is sharing herself in ways that are beautiful and meaningful for anyone trying to reach their goals and dreams. I’m a 62 year old woman who has had to overcome: a life of trauma, and neglect as a child. A life of love, loss, trauma, and trying to live every day the best I can, with courage (deeply digging), hope and perseverance to this day. I always come back to all I’m thankful for with gratitude in my heart and soul.
I so appreciate Michelle Obama for bringing her stories and helping me not feel alone, especially in this difficult time of post pandemic and all it brought with it to our lives, our families, friends, communities, nation and world.
Definitely a blessing to know of Michelle Obama and thankful for her bravery in sharing her stories of life. How fortunate her family and friends are to be around her kitchen table.

Things in education have been tough lately, and listening to this while I drove to my job in a large public school provided me with that boost of encouragement we all so desperately need. I began each day with my best mindset, and tried to carry a brighter light to those around me.
Tyler Perry’s episode almost had me late to bus duty because I was laughing so hard at the end of the episode, I couldn’t turn it off!
