WEEK 22 SUMMARY

Doctrine and Covenants sections 51 to 57 cover a range of revelations given to the early Latter-day Saints during a time of gathering and establishment. Section 51 deals with the law of consecration and stewardship, outlining how resources are to be managed among the Saints by Bishop Edward Partridge. Section 52 provides instruction for the first high priests' conference and the calling of missionaries to spread the gospel. Section 53 and 54 address personal revelations to Sidney Gilbert and Newel Knight, respectively. Section 55 outlines the calling of William W. Phelps and the printing of Church materials. Lastly, Section 56 serves as a warning against pride and disobedience, while Section 57 identifies Independence, Missouri, as the center place of Zion and directs the purchase of lands for the gathering of the Saints. It reassures believers that those who are steadfast will find peace and safety amidst the chaos of the world. The section closes with an invitation to hearken to the Savior’s words and prepare spiritually for His return.
