"The Return of Tarzan" is a novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the second in his series of books about the title character Tarzan. It was first published in the pulp magazine New Story Magazine in the issues for June through December 1913; the first book edition was published in 1915 by A. C. McClurg.

Por un lado, Kakuichi, esposa del joven abogado Kotaro, un ama de casa insatisfecha que se apunta a un curso de pintura tradicional para matar el aburrimiento. Por otro, Mitsuko, una estudiante seductora que pronto iniciará un tórrido romance con Kakuichi. Y en el extremo opuesto, Watanuki, novio de Mitsuko y dispuesto a llegar a límites insospechados para casarse con ella.

Elinor y Marianne, las dos hermanas protagonistas de esta novela, experimentan y viven el amor de manera radicalmente opuesta. David Copperfield was a little boy who grew up in an unfortunate family. His father died six months before David’s birth. Later his mother remarried to a cruel man who beat him up. David however fought back and bit him. This resulted in David getting sent to a boarding school which he did not finish because of his mother’s death. All in all, David’s life has been a string of misfortunes. His development from infancy to maturity happened unnecessarily fast.

Dabei ist das Aufkommen von Leidenschaften das eigentliche Thema dieses Bandes, in dem sich der Autor immer freier erdachten Situationen und Beziehungen widmet, auch wenn sicherlich ein unmittelbar eigenes Erleben in diese Schilderung mit einfließt.
