About this listen
What should a Christian do with Jesus' words, "Love your enemies"? Is it all right for a Christian to go to war? Doesn't a Christian have an obligation to defend his country?
Dean Taylor and his wife, Tania, were both in the US Army when they realized that as committed Christians, they had to come to grip with these questions in a new and sincere quest for truth. They were determined to follow Jesus Christ under the banner of no compromise. As they began to search the Scriptures and church history, they came to the startling discovery that the Christian Church originally was uniformly opposed to Christians going to war or joining the military.
In A Change of Allegiance, Taylor takes the listener on a moving journey through the Scriptures, Christian history, and his own life's story demonstrating the incompatibility of Christianity and war. Ultimately, Taylor challenges his listener to consider where their allegiance really lies.

Story
If someone were to ask you what was the theme of Jesus' preaching, what would be your answer? Man's need for salvation? God's love for mankind? The new birth? To be sure, Jesus spoke about all of those things. And they're all essential truths. But none of them were the theme of his teaching. The theme of Jesus' message was the kingdom of God. Wherever he went, Jesus preached about the kingdom. The irony is that the message of the kingdom is almost totally missing from the gospel that's preached today.

Story
Here is the compelling narrative of the founding of America, told from a perspective that few people have ever heard. That perspective is the Sermon on the Mount. America's currency declares, "in God we trust". But did the American colonists truly trust in God in the founding of the United States? The product of nine years of research, this new work challenges much of what most of us learned in school about the founding of America and the American Revolution. Bercot's well-documented findings will surprise many people.

Practically everyone in the western world has heard of the man called St. Patrick. But hardly anyone knows anything about him. Although Patrick is the most famous person of his age, the real man has been buried in a cloud of myths

This book offers answers to why so many people - and the churches they attend - are unable to experience the divine strength that was evident among the first-century Christians. What does the Bible mean when it says we are to fear God? Is it difficult for you to reconcile the two sides of God’s nature - His wrath and His love? Mattie Montgomery teaches that a right pursuit of the fear, fire, and fullness of God can lead you into the knowledge of a side of God you may never have imagined before. He notes that the fear of God does not mean that we should be afraid of God; but rather, that we should be afraid to be against Him.

What does an ancient Jewish prophet have to do with modern America? What, if anything, can we learn from a man who lived 2,400 years ago as a captive in the land we now call Iraq? As it turns out, quite a bit. David and Jason Benham are convinced the biblical example of Daniel holds the keys to contemporary Christians thriving in a world increasingly hostile to people of faith. Like Daniel, believers today find themselves in a changing culture, one opposed to the god they serve.

Jesus Christ did not die on the cross so you and I could have a nice day. Ministers and teachers who water down the Gospel of Christ in order to make it more popular and appealing may be leading their fun-loving audiences down the road to eternal punishment. This book is John MacArthur's unflinching, unapologetic treatise on the modern tendency to alter the true message of Christianity in order to meet the whims and desires of a culture hoping for nonconfrontational messages, easy answers, and superficial commitments.

Story
What does the Bible mean when it says we are to fear God? Is it difficult for you to reconcile the two sides of God’s nature - His wrath and His love? Mattie Montgomery teaches that a right pursuit of the fear, fire, and fullness of God can lead you into the knowledge of a side of God you may never have imagined before. He notes that the fear of God does not mean that we should be afraid of God; but rather, that we should be afraid to be against Him.

There is a process by which God builds a bold man, and it is seen in the life of Joseph. In this process, God will work providentially, in every detail of the man's life. He will work strangely, therefore much of what God is doing won't make sense. And he will work slowly, frustrating the man who is in a hurry to succeed immediately.

LOTS OF TRUTH
an unfortunately poor reading of a good book., the author is candid about his experience leaving the military as a conscientious objector. though not especially well written this book articulates correctly the true Christian's part in worldly wars.
