Publisher's summary

He'll never forget her. She's escaping a shattered marriage. Will she turn away from the cowboy who offers her more than love, or will his tenderness heal her broken heart?

Belle York takes her kids to her family’s mountain retreat to help them heal from their father’s abandonment. When a fire drives them from the peaceful oasis, Belle’s surprised her salvation is the cowboy she was afraid to love.

As a volunteer first responder, the last person Aaron McSweeney expected to see huddling near the blazing cabin was the woman who captured his heart fourteen years ago. Everyone warns him he’s headed toward heartache, but he’ll take his chances to be with the woman who still haunts his dreams.

The safety Aaron offers Belle leads to another disaster that isolates them from the rest of the world. Will their forced proximity open old wounds, or will this chance to pick up where they left off show them the way to love?

A Cowboy Winning Her Heart is the second book in the Christian romance series Sweet Mountain Ranch. If you like second-chance romance and affectionate moments, you’ll love Laura Haley-McNeil’s sweet tales.

Yikes

If AI Voice is the future of audio books, I’m boycotting. It’s like listening to sixth grade boys do popcorn reading in English class.

Here’s how I think the story was written: “Hey ChatGPT, write a novel and have the characters eat three meals a day, each described in expansive detail. Also, end every chapter with a moment of reflection and include all the Christian lingo you can find—but have that reflection be forgotten by the next chapter. Include a heroine who is described as ‘fascinating’ despite lacking depth. She should have to endure two natural disasters back-to-back and be afraid of thunderstorms even though she’s living in the Rockies. Her children shouldn’t be developed beyond being overly polite and obedient. Finally, have it wrap up in forty pages with unrealistic scenarios and zero conflict or loose ends. Oh yeah, be sure to include nonalcoholic champagne because that’s natural to mention.”

If you like clean romance, stick with Courtney Walsh instead.
