About this listen
Pope Francis met with French reporter and sociologist Dominique Wolton for an unprecedented series of 12 fascinating and timely conversations - open dialogues revolving around the political, cultural, and religious issues dominating communication and conflict around the world - now published in A Future of Faith: The Path of Change in Politics and Society.
Inspiring and insightful, Pope Francis’ views on immigration, poverty, diversity, globalization, and more are born from his Christian faith and basic humanity. Meeting the challenges of the 21st century requires compassion for those in need, a willingness to work toward common goals without domineering other cultures, and the ability to negotiate with trust, respect, and dignity. And for the first time, Pope Francis shares insights into his own personality and the formation of his faith, including his experience with psychotherapy and some of the most important women in his upbringing.
Controversial, bold, personal, and illuminating, A Future of Faith will serve to be essential listening for not only Catholics but those who want to see how the “people’s pope” confronts the social injustices of the world with the foresight to create positive change.

Story
Christians tend to polarize. Some have an intellectual faith, while others are more emotional. Some focus on structure while others focus on freedom. And some champion evangelism while others advocate for social action. John Stott's classic statement of balanced Christianity shows how we can hold these tensions together in biblical, faithful ways. Also includes an interview with John Stott with further reflections on the need for balance in contemporary evangelical Christianity.

Story
Like many other people of faith, you may be concerned about what the future holds for Christians in America. Every day we wake up in a nation and world that is increasingly hostile to our beliefs and values. Even the basic freedoms that define America - speech and religion - are under attack. The result is that many of us have become fearful, apathetic, and detached. The great need of the day is a sweeping revolution of courage in our lives, families, and houses of worship. A Call for Courage will spark that revolution in you.

The church in the West is at a critical moment. While the Gospel is exploding throughout the global South, Western civilization faces militant assaults from aggressive secularism and radical Islam. Will the church resist the seductive shaping power of advanced modernity? More than ever Christians must resist the negative cultural forces of our day with fortitude and winsomeness. What is needed is followers of Christ who are willing to face reality without flinching and respond with a faithfulness that is unwavering.

Story
The light of the Christian faith is flickering out all over the West. American churches are beset by a rapidly secularizing culture, the departure of young people, and watered-down pseudo-spirituality. Political solutions have failed, as the self-destruction of the Republican Party indicates, and the future of religious freedom has never been in greater doubt. The center is not holding. The West, cut off from its Christian roots, is falling into a new Dark Age.

A fantastic book
A great book that I found to be developmental and maturative for a young man coming of age such as myself. I found this book to be relatable and professionally written. I further highly recommend this book.

Beautiful, direct and deeply insightful. But the rich content can be squelched by a narrator with a distractingly severe case of voice fry.

Not a Pope Francis Treatise
I listened to a third of this book before returning. I was hoping for more of a treatise from Pope Francis, or a book similar in quality to those published by Pope Benedict XVI. This book is a series of short interviews with the Pope and the answers were given as either the short answer, or the answer is deferred for more consideration. Unfortunately, more is learned about the interviewer than the Pope.
