Good book, terrible performance

The book was great but it was hard to get through due to the narrator. It was so slow and monotone. I felt like someone was reading a itemized spread sheet to me. I know this book is supposed to have a Male perspective and thus I can appreciate a male narrator, but I would rather have Meg Sylvan read the book in her impassioned Hades voice, than listen to Tyler Donne drone on and on.

Great story but the narrator is hard to listen to

I loved the story from Hades perspective, and it fills in the gaps from the Hades and Persephone saga. I really have a hard time with the narrator though. I got through the book and I’ll listen to the others, but I do not think this narrator is a good fit. Objectively speaking, the writing and story are phenomenal and if I was able to read the book instead of listening I would.

Narrator Voice is Monotone

I love the story, but the performance in Persephone’s POV is very passionate and she uses a lot of inflection. This was hard to get through, may be reading the rest of Hades POV on my kindle instead.

it's the voice

It's not that this guy was terrible I'm sure for a different genre he would sound just fine. However, for this particular book He was just not a good fit. The story's fantastic I love this author and cannot wait for the next book.

Eh, performance.

The story is fantastic and totally parallel with the original, but the narrator barely breaks for Hades quotes so some of the dialogue gets lost in the narration. Also, there’s a lackluster performance of the brooding and need from Hades.

LOVE the series, narrator was a crushing disappointment

I wish they would re-record this with a new narrator… great story but read by THE MOST dry, dull, unemotional and anticlimactic person EVER. The narrator seems like more of a documentary guy.
I absolutely love the series so this was a crushing disappointment.

Eh

So. I'm obsessed with the reading of a Touch of Darkness series. When I realized there was a Hades version, I was eager to listen. I do not care for the reading by this reader. He makes the females sound stupid. The female reader was so expressive and gave the characters so much life. This is very 2d. Not only that, I was disappointed in the story. He is such a complicated character, but he just seemed sex hungry and worried about his "cock". I would find someone else to read the next book in Hades saga series. I like the idea behind the series. I hope they just get more into his deep complicated thoughts. The two series link together like a chain link. They share a story but you get back stories the other might leave not touch on. Overall, I love the Touch of series I'd just rather read the Hades saga rather than listen to this slightly monotone man.

A few notes…

It was a great story of Hades POV! But I wish I knew to either tandem read it or read it after a touch of darkness it just would have made sense that way, but then again I didn’t know there was Hades POV. It was good because things made more sense and a great insight. Also the reader was good but but a few things bothered me I wished his rhythm kinda picked up more and some pronunciations of the names should could be improved. But other than that it was good!

Great Retelling from Hades

I loved hearing from Hades point of view. It gave great insight into what he does and what he had been doing while away from Persephone.

Great book, poor narration

I love this series! The writing is amazing and the story is very well told. However the narrator sucks and also doesn’t pronounce names the same way as the narrator from the original series. Couldn’t get my attention as much.
