Really exciting, couldn't put it down. Can't wait

This was a very realistic portrayal of how people in a small town might really react when doomsday comes. It's not just a guy with a gun and a dog, but from a housewife's perspective. Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy. I am bored easily, but the first chapter had me hooked.

loved it!!

I absolutely loved the first book "After the waves" I can't wait for book 2 and 3. The storyline and how Sandi is such a strong Christian woman really kept me involved. I hope the author continues to write more books like this. I would gladly purchase any she writes!

A good post apocalypse story w/ female perspective

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A great post apocalyptic series. I liked that the story is told from a strong female lead. She has strong religious beliefs, but I didn't feel like that detracted from the story. All in all, a good story that is well narrated. I'll definitely move on to the next book in the series.

My review

What would you do if it was the end of the technological era? What would you do to survive and protect the ones you love??
That's what most of America has to decide when any enemy attack wipes out most of the electricity in America.

One street binds together in hope of survival, but how long can they really last? 3 months? 18 months?

With so many bad things happening around them this street becomes a quick family and does whatever they can to survive in a town torn apart by crimes and lawlessness.

But the real question is... who can they trust??

Not Your Typical Apocalypse

This story grabs your attention right away. The characters are interesting and well defined. I liked that fact that the main character is a forty-something woman who believes in herself and her family, yet is humble enough to ask her creator for help and wisdom. Hope the next book comes out on Audible soon.

A Decent Story....

This Character Made It Hard For Me To Relate To Her Plight Not Only Did She Come Off As A Goody Two Shoes...I Kept Wondering Why Was Her Daughter Always An After Thought Throughout The Entire Story??...It Was However Refreshing For Jesus, The Bible And Praying To Be Positively Accepted...Very Very Refreshing!! I Liked The Narrator Her Voice Fit This Character Perfectly...

Great book but two minor editorial mistakes

Akiane, the artist referenced in the story, is Lithuanian, not Ukrainian. Also Catholics are Christians, they are not an offshoot of Christianity. Aside from these two editorial mistakes the book is fantastic because the characters are so real. They remind me of many people I've known.

After the Waves

This is a light version of an end of the world book.

Sandi is a prepper at heart, having supplies stashed before the wave hit. When she hears the news she jumps into action to prepare for the worst and care for her family all the while keeping a positive outlook.

Written in first person from a woman's perspective, lends a different view to the story. Sandi is a planner and a doer who prays often. This is definitely a Christian book, which for some may be a turn off, but many will find it enjoyable.

Jennifer Groberg adds elements of excitement to her voice as she reads this story which is good. However, she doesn't have much variation in character voices which makes it a bit difficult to distinguish when someone else is talking, male or female.
