Publisher's summary

Learning to control that anger could very well save your kid’s life. Here’s what you need to know....

According to statistics, 73 percent of parents say parenting is the biggest struggle in their life. On top of that, in order to cope with these stressors, 90 percent of parents claim to yell at their kids.

But what effect does this actually have on your little ones? Is it even an effective strategy?

In Am I Yelling?, you’ll discover:

  • The psychology of anger and why yelling is not the most productive outlet
  • What to do when your child is the angry one, and why remaining calm is imperative
  • How to learn your child’s language so that you can understand and anticipate their actions
  • A step-by-step guide to developing your own emotional intelligence and why this could save your child’s life
  • Groundbreaking insight into how you can manage your anger, even if you haven’t succeeded with this in the past
  • What you can do to fix an instance of yelling and why this is important for your child’s development
  • And so much more.

Parenting is hard enough without always having to second-guess if you’re doing the right thing. Yelling has it’s time and place and can be effective in certain instances, but sometimes expressing your frustration this way simply does more harm than good.

Spending just minutes a day, you can train your mind to use these strategies and control your anger to communicate more effectively with your child, as well as help them to grow into the best possible version of themselves.

If you’re ready to control those random outbursts and stop feeling like you’re treating your children too harshly, then scroll up and click the “buy” button right now.

Practical and Immediate Application

Parenting books of late tend can be overwhelming and overly complicated/cerebral. This book offers a practical guide to managing our emotions as parents but not just limited to engagement with kids - really for everyone, adults, peers, coworkers alike. I didn’t feel like I needed to take psychology courses to translate the book and I loved the simplicity of the tips we can begin trying at home today to help everyone develop a stronger sense of EQ and thereby improve overall happiness through improved engagement.

good book

lately I had found my self easily upset by small things, it make me wonder , how I became this way? specially since it seems to be happening also to my kids. As this book suggested , it seems that I have lost objectivity after bottleup so much anger, with good intentions but at the end exploded with the wrong person for the wrong reason. This book suggestions and strategies hopefully will make things easier now that I have become aware and have a guide. ( I was unable to open PDF companion)

Perfect!

The authors really hit the nail on the head with this book. I felt like I had no idea how to connect with my nieces (3 years old) when they were having their tantrums. All I knew was that I was really upset when it came to addressing them. One of the biggest things that changed how I interacted with them immediately was the vagus breath technique outlined in the strategies portion of the book. The authors also shared the science behind why it worked which really helped me understand why it was something worth trying. Honestly, I can't thank the authors enough for improving my relationship with my nieces (and many other relationships for that matter)! It was like a night and day difference in just one interaction with them after reading. Hope you choose to buy this book too if you want a better grasp on your anger. It really helps.

Effective and Empowering

Bought this for my sister as she'd been struggling with her kids (4 & 6) over the last couple years, and was feeling overwhelmed by her inability to emotionally cope with them. She knows she loves them, but both she and they have a hard time controlling their fear/emotions. I saw this book, and figured I'd get it for her just to see if it could help her, and I couldn't be more grateful for my decision!

After listening to just the first week, she keeps telling me about how she's gained greater understanding for the source of her emotions, and how this audiobook helped her gain insight into the reasoning for her issues. It clearly explains functional methods for gaining control over your emotions, and how to contain them so they don't negatively affect your parenting. The author is experienced on the subject, and the narrator is even toned and easy to understand. Would definitely recommend!

Totally sensible!

Most of the self-help books focusing on parent child relationships normally look at the solutions from only the parents point of view. This book does a great job of breaking down how the kids would feel and also including them in the process of correcting both behaviors. The factor of accountability on both sides is a great strategy! All the strategies listed are very sensible and easy to understand why they are recommended. I highly recommend this book for parents!

Exactly what I needed.

This book contains lots of value and I did learn a lot. Now I know that my external circumstances shouldn't control my emotions.
I also learned that our brains don't fully develop until we turn 20 which was a piece of new knowledge to me. Lastly, parents should learn to listen to their kids so they can be open with you and freely tell you things and the best inheritance a parent can give their children is a few munites of their time on a daily basis.

Simple to understand

This book offers parents practical techniques for controlling their emotions and raising their children. It's well-written and packed with valuable facts, ideas, and examples. Finally, we should all restrain our anger, just as we would restrain our dog from chasing a squirrel. The narrator has a calming and positive tone, which puts me at ease.
