A Good but Different Angle on a Shifter Novel

What did you love best about Autumn's Blood?

All of the characters were very strong. There were no weeping willows.

Did Teri Clark Linden do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

No, there were two main character groups and I had to rewind because I was confused on which group I was hearing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was an interesting variation on the shifter idea and written in a mystery format

Ok story, blah narrator

The story was somewhat unique to the shifter/romance books I've listened to in the past. The writer tried for a government conspiracy/detective style story within regular lust filled love/hate relationship between hot shifter and delicate beautiful smart human story.

It could have been much better in audio format if the narrator gave the characters any personality. Even when characters were arguing, the voices were low and calm. "what.are.you.doing...come.on.get.in.the.car..."
Irritating- but the actual story behind the voices was interesting enough to get me through to the end.
I purchased it as a whispersync companion audio, so it was 1.99 (plus the price of the kindle version). I do not think it is worth a credit or full price.

Great start to a slightly different shifter series.

Blake is a shifter working as head security on a project where a government man is experimenting on shifters so he can produce a serum that could turn humans to shifters. His plan is to have a shifter army. Autumn is a geneticist the general believes can discover the serum. Blake and Autumn become close. When they discover her blood is the catalyst to the serum, Blake gets her out of the facility before anyone can imprison her to use her to make the serum. He knows they would never let her go. They hook up with Blake's cousin and other shifters to try to rescue the captives and put a stop to the experiments. I was hooked by the first chapter. On to book two. Very good narration.

Enjoyable story.

I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next installment. While the narrator's voice was enjoyable there were times she sounded very flat and almost monotone. Overall, I was kept engaged in the story. I actually listened to most of it over two sittings while playing Pogo games.

everything you wanted and more

murder, romance, government cover up, shifters and more. this was a refreshing take on a genre that seems to be overdone. It held me from the beginning and I hope this is just the beginning of whats to come.

A Whole different type of Shifters

What made the experience of listening to Autumn's Blood the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed listening to the Audio Version rather then actually reading the book because I really got immersed into the story.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was so different the other "shifters"stories. Instead of being born a shifter After your born a spirit shifter will choose you. The younger you are when this happens the stronger a connection you will have with your spirit shifter. Your spirit shifter (wolf, bear, panther, eagle, etc) is able to travel ahead of you and send back images to you.

What does Teri Clark Linden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Teri in my opinion was a great narrator. There are some narrators that just do not get the characters tone or the feel of them. But Teri really hit on each character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Autumn went to see her father and he treated her like she was interfering with his time. I hope we get a better view of Autumns relationship with her father.

Any additional comments?

I looked for book two Saving Autumn but not in Audio yet, I will be buying it when it has been competed.

Creative and imaginative story

Austin's Blood is unlike any book I have ever read. The author created a new shifter universe that is so new and refreshing. The storyline is strong and intense. The characters are well developed. I love how their romance takes time to develop. I received this audio book at my request. I am leaving my honest review here voluntarily of my own volition.

Good title as is.

Good storyline, characters, and narration. This is actually a serial not a series. In ths shifter world, humans are unaware shifters exist, except a gov agency that wants to create an army of expendable soldiers. Autumn is a genius they hope will find the key. Unaware of the torture of shfters she doesn't know exist, she is drawn into the effort to save them.

Unique Spin on Shifters

This book gives a unique spin on how a shifter forms. The story is the basic good against evil. How far should we go in research before it becomes like Frankenstein's story? Who is the monster, the created or the creator? However, this book has nothing to do with Frankenstein but brought to mind the morality of that particular story. It is a shifter romance.

Not bad but...

This may be a good beginning to a series but the narrator...not so much. Her monotone and lack of voice inflection during what should have been emotion laden dialogue nearly put me to sleep. #Suspenseful #Violent #Gritty
