Philippians 3:8 (CEV)

Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ.

I’ve told the story of how God had an appointment with Jesse Duplantis, the Apostle of Joy. It was late at night, around 3 a.m., when God entered Jesse’s room and called out to him, “Jesse, wake up!” Jesse opened his eyes, still half-asleep, and with his characteristic humour, he replied, “God, I’m sleeping. Why didn’t You come at 10?” God responded, “Because you were too busy watching a movie.”

Imagine that! God had planned to visit Jesse earlier in the evening, but the noise and distraction of television delayed his encounter. In this simple yet profound exchange, we’re reminded how easy it is to miss divine moments when our attention is consumed by worldly entertainment. It’s a call to all of us to make room for God and to prioritize His presence over the distractions that vie for our time and focus.

In this Year of the Chainbreaker, be sensitive to God and make room for His presence. Prayer will sensitize you to His promptings and timing. Just as we prioritize important things in life, our commitment to seeking God must take precedence.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I speak spiritual discipline over my life. I decree and declare I will not miss my appointment with God this year, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
