Publisher's summary

A class president among class presidents, a bespectacled model student who soars to the top of honors lists without fail, Tsubasa Hanekawa also happens to be a decent human being. True, she does have a habit of making single-minded assumptions, but they come from a good place and turn out to be fortuitous as often as not.

Loser extraordinaire Koyomi Araragi owes her his post of class vice president and a more significant debt of gratitude for her unstinting support during the darkest spring break of his life. All of it has blinded him to the possibility that his saintly classmate's family situation might be no less adverse than that of his other lady friends.

Thus, at last, we face Hanekawa's unlikely aberration in "Tsubasa Cat" - the concluding part of the legendary novel that captured the sensibilities of a new generation in the aught years and spawned an animated series that has won international popularity and acclaim - before the story continues with a Fake Tale....

Amazing Stuff

The monogatari series is truly amazing, and this wasn't an exception. If you liked book one and two of course you'll like this one,

Unlike many titles on audible

It's unfortunate they seem to be done creating audio books for the monogatari series, as this is hands down the best audio book I've enjoyed. Not only is Nisioisin a master at creating character driven stories with entertaining conversations, but the performance between the cast made me feel like I was reading the book again for the first time.

More please

disclaimer: I'm already a fan of the show these stories produced.

This is great. I'd love to purchase and listen to the whole series.

granted, some of the gags can get repeated one too many times, but other than perhaps one or two instances of such, it's great.

If you make more, I will come. If you want to Kickstart it, I will donate. please just make more. I drive for a job and hearing stories like this makes it fun, or at least tolerable on bad days.

great series and very good voice actor.

A wonderful story by Nisiosin and the voice actor are doing well enough to convey the feeling. the translation is decent and convey a lot of Japanese joke and wordplay. Good job. Please create more of this series.

We need more!!!

This is one of my favorite series. It also has multiple voice actors so it almost feels like you are watching an anime. I think the audio books for this are a hidden gem especially since the actual anime does not have a dub.

We need all Nisi Oisin's works.

This is an exceptional story even if you have never seen the anime. Nisi Oisin is a master of dialogue and character development. There a layers of meaning in what the characters say throughout the series. The performance is very well done by the cast of narrators. Hopefully, we will see more of these works brought to Audible with the same level of care.

Lost in Translation

While I enjoyed this series, I never understood why it is so wildly popular. Yes, the story and characters are interesting, but at the same time most of the dialogue, which is 90% stupid banter, gets old fast. I understand that much of it is cultural references and wordplay, and I applaud the translators for being able to tackle that, but that is exactly my point: to a Westerner, much of this falls flat. I think, even to a Japanese native, this series has to be a bit rich. So what is so great about that?

Also, after listening to Kizumonogatari, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever as to why Araragi would like the super mean Senjougahara over Hanekawa. It defies nature and the universe. It defies all understanding and reason. I don't blame Hanekawa for getting stressed over it. Araragi is the biggest dumbass in history.

More please

I really enjoyed the work put into this by the voice cast and hope that more of the novels get the same treatment soon.
