Publisher's summary

A virus has infected billions all over the world, turning its victims into vicious zombies. The UK and Ireland have remained uninfected...until now.

Lucy Blair is an American doctor stationed at a field hospital outside the quarantined city of Leeds. Each day, she hears more rumors circulating about the virus spreading. Each day, she plays her part in the vast mechanism that has been constructed by the British government to safeguard the population.

But today, the rumors stopped. Today, the rumors became reality. Now she is in a new kind of Hell as she fights her way through a dangerous city to find a last ray of hope and that one last chance for survival.

Doctor Lucy

I love Christopher Artinian's "Safe Haven" series and the prequels he has written for the books really add a lot to the reader's understanding of the characters. Lucy Blair is an American physician who is working with the government to try to control the virus threatening to turn everyone into Reanimated corpses (also known as zombies). The book adds a very emotional dimension to Lucy's character and I was almost in tears at the beginning.

There is plenty of tension and action as Lucy and her crew face hoards of RAMs and evil humans (sounds familiar!). I also enjoyed Samantha's part in this book and her past relationship with Mike. These characters almost feel like family and it was nice to see the early start of Lucy's strength.

As always, the amazing Kim Bretton has done an outstanding job in her narration. She really brings the characters to life with the unique voices for each one. Her performance brings an already brilliant book to a whole other level of awesomeness!

It's great to hear everyones beginning

It's great to hear every-ones beginning in the Safe Haven World. I can't say it enough how Kim and Christopher make a dynamic duo when it comes to audible books. This time, we get to know Lucy and how she came to be in Mikes life. Kim does an amazing job , as usual and Christopher really knows how to fill out a character. Be sure to check out all of his books. You won't be disappointed.

Extraordinary Novella

Lucy's story was entertaining, and I enjoyed it very much. I've been a fan of Christopher Artinian's stories for a while and this novella does not disappoint. Lucy was one of my favorite characters from the "Safe Haven" series and I enjoyed getting this glimpse of her character just as the zombie apocalypse was starting. Kim Bretton's narration was as absorbing as usual, and her performance enhanced this fascinating tale. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Before Safe Haven : Lucy

So happy to get to hear in detail about Lucy's days before the Safe Haven series began. She was always one of my favorites in the Safe Haven universe. Flawed but still trying day by day to be better, be happy, and to survive. I highly recommend this amazing series by Christopher Artinian! Kim Bretton brings the characters to life again.

Short, sweet, scary!

As fans of Safe Haven, there were quite a few questions about Lucy, the doctor from America, and Samantha, her nurse assistant that helped Mike out. This book answers some of those questions, from a view point with Lucy in the center.
Besides who are they?:
Where did they go after they left Mike’s house?
How did they come to run into Emma?
What happened when the family was trying to move on?

We get to share sweet memories from Before “Doomsday” (another great book & audio if you haven’t found them).

We then walk with Lucy through her depression, coping mechanisms and drive to keep fighting when all seems hopeless. Treating patients - including those in Safe Haven chapter 2 - and the terror she sees when sent to help others in need.

Before the Rock Chick in Safe Haven this brief and touching look is narrated beautifully.

Instead of just reading, Kim brings a depth of emotion to Lucy that I didn’t hear when reading the book either time.

Tina has made my weekend by providing me a requested review copy. I leave this review voluntarily.

Excellent

Loved learning about Lucy and how it all began with her. The action is intense and you get to meet Lucy and her friend as they battle to stay alive at the beginning of the outbreak. You also learn who she meets along the way. A great short story that gives us the characters view on how it all began. The narrator did and superb job as usually.

I received a free code in exchange for an honest review.

Before Safe Haven: Lucy A Zombie Novella

Before Safe Haven: Lucy (A Zombie Novella) by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton is another win for the series. Recommend if you love this series as much as I do.

This novella deals with Lucy’s origins. She’s an American doctor working in the UK during the zompoc. She in the middle of it all when SHTF. There’s some heartbreak in this one, but also a good amount of action. It’s a good reminder of what the beginning was like for those of us who are deep into the series.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, was fantastic as usual. I have no complaints on her narrations and I can’t imagine anyone else voicing the sisters. Kim brings something special to the story and helps make the series stand out.
