Publisher's summary

What happens when danger and love collide under a Navajo moon? The search for a woman who disappeared in 1906 has lead cultural anthropologist Erin Dawson to Cedar Canyon, where the iconic terrain of red rock walls and mesas keep Navajo traditions - and maybe criminal evidence - well hidden. When Erin's search leads her to cross paths with tribal policeman Adam Silverhorn, it's hardly love at first sight. But everywhere she turns, Adam is already there. Fighting their feelings for each other, the two are suddenly thrust into a battle far more dangerous - a common quest to rout an insidious drug cartel that has spawned the recent rise in gang violence on the reservation. Adam's position of authority gives Erin a rare glimpse into Navajo life few outsiders like her ever see - and into a crime ring that no one dares to imagine. As danger mounts, Adam and Erin begin to wonder if they will live to tell how they really feel.

Good story

While the story was good and kept me involved Emily Caldwell’s pronunciation of the Navajo language was poor and distracting to me. It would have been better if she had spent some time learning how to pronounce the few Diné words she had to speak throughout the book.

Enjoyed the story but.......

I was disappointed that the narrator didn’t take the time to learn the correct pronunciation
of the Navaho terminology. I also think the author represented the behavior and attitudes of her characters in a way that reflects real life attitudes and prejudice in our society.

Enjoyed the christian romance adventure!

Would you consider the audio edition of Beneath a Navajo Moon to be better than the print version?

Its the same. It depends if you have the time to read and I do not. I listen to books while illustrating and animating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beneath a Navajo Moon?

When Ben did not die.

Which character – as performed by Emily Caudwell – was your favorite?

Adam.

Who was the most memorable character of Beneath a Navajo Moon and why?

Adam and Aaron. I loved their interaction with each other.

Any additional comments?

Would really like to hear the other books written by Lisa Carter narrated by Emily Caudwell. The other narrators are terrible!!! Emily is the best! Few women can do mens voices well. And Emily does. I never once got distracted from the story because of her narration.Thank you Emily - and Lauren keep them coming!!!!

Wonderful!

I didn’t realize there was a Christian storyline and for me that added to the story. Clean, riveting, loves the mix of history and current. Overall a great read!

Wonderful Christian suspense/romance

This book has a cultural anthropologist from a missionary family working on her doctorate, choosing to write about the Navajo and a young white woman who was captured in the early 1900’s.
The past and present are woven together. I with baited breath as I listened to this book.

The best of Lisa Carter so far!

Beautiful love stories, and also stories of faith, past and present, that turn out to be connected. Beautifully told, too.
