Bikram yoga is a type of yoga that originated in India and became popular in the early 1970s. The founder of this yoga, Bikram Choudhury, is also the pioneer of the Yoga College in India. He was born in the year 1946 in Kolkata and started practicing yoga at a very young age. Bikram Choudhury was a renowned champion of the All-India National Yoga Championship and is also known for his singing and writing talents.

Bikram yoga was created from the traditional hatha yoga techniques and follows a series of 26 postures. The yoga poses normally take 90 minutes to conduct and are practiced in a room heated up to 40 degrees centigrade, with a humidity of 40 percent. Along with the 26 postures, it also includes two breathing techniques.

Bikram yoga allows the body to completely stretch out and sweat from all pores. It is a good technique to relieve stress, pain in joints, and body aches and heal chronic injuries. It also tones up your body, helps to reduce weight, lowers blood pressure, revitalizes your body, and increases life span.

Practicing Bikram yoga doesn't have any side effects apart from the body being dehydrated due to excessive sweating. Therefore, it is advisable to drink plenty of water before you start the yoga session and even after to maintain the liquid in your body.

Speaker has ver pleasant voice

I found it very helpful. I especially liked to hear benefits. I would have liked it better if the common names for all the poses were given.(it was for a few ). Also a pdf file so one could see the pose while listening would have been great.

Short and sweet very informative

Describes the original 26+2 bikram yoga hatha postures and breathing exercises, how to get into them as well as all of the benefits of doing them.
