Publisher's summary

It started on a dance floor after too much tequila, and ended with looking into the handsome face I never thought I’d see again....

In person, at least. I saw his face all the time on magazine covers. To the world, he’s Parker Callahan — famous rockstar. To me, he was the boy I loved; the stepbrother who left me behind to follow his dreams.

After our tequila-fueled encounter, he wants me back, but that’s not a road I’m ready to walk down again. He broke my heart once, and even five years later, I’m not sure I could handle another blow.

When a once-in-a-lifetime offer comes my way, even my broken heart isn’t enough for me to be able to turn it down. I agree to join the band’s tour and help Parker write his next album...but this time I’m not falling in love. This time I’ll walk away.

But if there's one thing life has taught me, it’s that love never goes according to plan — especially when Parker is involved.

PARKER AND NOVA were 🔥

Love, love, LOVED Blame it on the Tequila! Parker and Nova shared such a sweet, close bond. I loved how the storyline played out and the narrators were on point with their delivery!

3.5 Stars

I loved SuperNova and Parker, but felt like she wasn't Naughty Nova as portrayed in Vera's previous book. This story was more emotional, but I just didn't feel the same love for it as I did the first book.

I listened to the audiobook, and the female narrator isn't a favorite of mine, so that possibly added to my less than amazing experience. I feel like I would have rated this a solid 4 had I read the book instead of listening.

Spicy isn't even a strong enough word!

🔥🔥🔥 HOLY FREKAING HOTNESS!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Yep! This has got to be one of THE HOTTEST books I have read in 2021! Fiona is the MASTER at slow burn FILLED with sexual tension ... and she did not disappoint! Parker and Nova are so hot, right from the beginning..... and they don't even actually get together until WELL into the book! So many things get in the way of this fantastic couple being together for many years! And the relationship that Nova had with all the guys in the band was so much fun to watch. I am going to need the story for every single one of them.... Starting with Ash!

The girl crew is still in full effect with the Blame It On The Alcohol ladies.... I am in total awe of the friendship they share how no matter what they are there for each other. Parker was so much swoonier than I thought he was going to be. I thought that being some rock star his swagger would overpower any kind of swoony sweetness he possessed! I was SO wrong! That swagger was there.... but it was NOT going to overshadow the swoon factor!

5 totally swoony stars..... 5 super hotter than hot 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. There was a very seriously cigarette worthy chapter involved that I was ALL HERE FOR! And now.... I await the next Fiona Cole masterpiece!

Story. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spice. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Swoon. 😍😍😍😍😍
Angst. 💔💔💔💔
Narration 👏👏👏👏

May 2023 Update for Audio Review:

While I was not the biggest fan of Stephanie's performance in this book, Jason more than made up for it! I loved it all! And I was so happy to be listening to Nova and Parker's story! I missed them so!

Angsty, second chance, rockstar romance!

I think I found a new favorite of the year!! This is a second-chance romance between Nova and Parker. They started falling for each other when they were younger but they were step-siblings, and something happened to Nova that changed everything. Now Nova is a very successful Instagram blogger and Parker is a member of one of the most famous rock bands in the world. The two randomly meet each other again on Instagram Live and start to reconnect. And Nova ends up joining the band as a songwriter. When they were younger she would help the band write songs. Old feelings start resurfacing, which leads to lots of angst. I loved this romance! I also really appreciated the flashbacks from the past to the present. I liked how hesitant Nova was to get back into a relationship with Parker, and how he really had to grovel. I absolutely adored this romance, and I also loved the audio!!

Narrator

I really like this series and this book, but the female narrator is not great. She talks as if she’s singing her words. Grated on my nerves.

love this book

I've read this book at least twice, and the audio is pretty good. Jason Clarke is amazing as Parker, but Stephanie Rose has an odd way of speaking. She has a very halting speech that sounds unnatural and her character voices for the males sound similar. I think I'll read the book next time and skip this audio in the future.

The book is very good. Step-siblings, second chance, rock star, slow burn, lots of good tropes here. There's a big trauma that's alluded to throughout the story and you don't know what happened to Nova until near the end of the book. And it's pretty surprising, I thought. The two of them are hot and I love this couple. I'm glad Parker calls her on her sh*t instead of letting her get away with stuff. And Vera and Rae are great characters, as are his band mates. This is a terrific book and it remains a favorite.

3 tropes in 1

I am a sucker when it comes to friends to lovers or second chance romance. Furthermore, who didn’t want another trope in the mix, forbidden romance as well. I do like the beginning of the story but overtime, I just didn’t get into the characters, it fizzled out for me. There are some parts I do enjoy and some parts I was puzzled with. It did pick up in the end and became okay overall. Perhaps, I didn’t like Nova’s character/personality, how she handles things when it comes to working side by side with Parker and I had a struggle with Parker’s character/personality, how his rockstar life wasn’t crack up to be. I think it had a good climax of the story but too quick of a resolution/recovery to uphold their relationship. Yet, this book was a whole lot of angst, cool to imagine how musician world could be, and interesting steamy moments between her and band mates. The audio narrators did a fantastic job: Jason Clarke and Stephanie Rose together. Otherwise, it doesn’t mean, I didn’t have fun reading/listening in order to escaping reality.
