About this listen

A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear.

Sara's ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation - a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county's sole female detective, Lena Adams - the first victim's sister - wants to serve her own justice.

But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath...or mean her death.

Gruesome mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's my first Karen Slaughter book and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a perfect mix of gruesome and mysterious.

Blindsighted blindsided me

I usually really like Karen Slaughter's writing. Her attention to detail, character development and imagery is well done. However, it went way to far in this book.....detail and imagery became down right disturbing and distasteful. Don't say you weren't warned!

Not her best work

I struggled to understand the character's motivation. Violent scenes occurred for shock value, no depth.

Love the Grant County Series

This is the beginning of the Grant County Series. And for me a serious love affair. This was one of my favorites. A great murder mystery with a small tad of romance in it. Just enough to get you hooked for the next story.

An ok one from a writer that has done better.

Karin Slaughter can write a good thriller. Her stories are more graphic and violent than almost all others. She keeps the inner voice of her characters to a minimum, unlike most women writers. She fell down in a couple of areas, firearm technical knowledge, and police equipment and training, particularly in weapon retention. A failing that reveals a lazy author. Overall, a good read. I believe she gets better in her subsequent work. "Cop Town" was very very good.

Dark, Twisty, Gruesome. Exc Narrator

Where does Blindsighted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Could be disturbing for those sensitive to the topic of rape. Aside from that, the story keeps you guessing who the monster is doing this. Narrator did a great job. I like thriller/horror stories. Not so much ones that contain such mutilation though. Hoping this author has others without because she is talented in her writing.

Riveting and very graphic

What made the experience of listening to Blindsighted the most enjoyable?

This was an interesting mix of romance and thriller. I'm not a fan of romance novels so I was a bit put off when romance was introduced. But the murder mystery overshadowed any romantic elements which I greatly appreciated.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blindsighted?

When the murderer is finally revealed, the excitement builds and holds the reader captive along with another victim.

Any additional comments?

Riveting page turner. A great listen.

Twisted intrigue

Sadistic serial killer stalkes women in the small Georgia town of Heartsdale. Local pediatrician and medical examiner Sara Linton, unknowingly holds the key to unmaskibg this sick individual. Killed first is the blind twin sister of a local police officer. Sara's ex-husband police chief Jeffrey Tollier is in charge of the case. While dealing with their still burning love for each other, Sara and Jeffrey must find this killer soon because another victim has surfaced. Very good story line. It held my interest through out. Interesting supporting characters.
