Shared testimony and fellowship are just the begin

Shelley’s shared testimony is only the beginning of the fellowship and catharsis in Broken Crayons Still Color. I’ve been pretty broken myself recently, so Shelley’s willingness to share and point others to God’s word and guidance for healing and serving God regardless of one’s broken state couldn’t have come at a better time for me.

Again, though, Shelley’s willingness to share is only the beginning. Broken Crayons Still Color is much more than a typical “passive read”. It’s an interactive experience with links, videos, coloring pages, meditative suggestions, questions to contemplate, an ongoing podcast, and tons of resources for personal development and group study for Christians to help each other explore God’s perspective and guidance to use us – even in our various broken states.

Technically, it’s a relatively short book/audiobook, but the interactive resources add to the experience for either a short, contemplative read OR a comprehensive 7 week study. Just as God provides us each with individual guidance and experiences, Broken Crayons Still Color gives the reader as much or as little as the individual reader needs. God works through the author in Broken Crayons Still Color. Let God work WITH you and THROUGH you as you read and listen for the individual message God knows you need.

God Turns our Brokenness into Masterpieces!

Shelly Hitz bares her soul in this wonderful book study, Broken Crayons Still Color. I loved it! I love that the author chose to be the voice for the audio book, it really brought the message to the surface. Shelley uses incidences of her own life, stories of brokenness and shares how God turned them into His masterpiece. God uses all things for good. A broken crayon still colors! He will never cast us aside!

I love that Shelley has incorporated coloring pages, videos, studies, memory verses, reflection questions, prayers, and resources for those listening to the book. She leaves no stone unturned. The audio version of Broken Crayons Still Color really speaks to the heart of the listener, especially with the prayers that she has written. Overall a wonderfully inspiring, raw, faith-filled, powerful, well written book! I highly recommend it!

Excellent!

I found this I book while reading the devotional in the Bible App. This book helped me deal with some deep hurts from my childhood. The videos that go along with each chapter are extremely helpful as well. I will be reviewing this book again! Recommended for anyone who has been abuses, rejected and mistreated!

I Am A Masterpiece

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because sometimes as humans, we need a dose of Jesus to remind us of who we are and Who we belong to and this book does this pairing with promises from God's word.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Yellow Crayon - I have also struggled with wanting to be accepted throughout various times in my life. I love how Shelley used the verses in Matthew 5:14-16, reminding me that I am a light and I am called to shine!

Have you listened to any of Shelley Hitz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have been following her new podcast on iTunes but this is my first experience with one of her books on Audible.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to a couple of chapters at a time but I broke it up in order to reflect on the questions at the end of each chapter.

Any additional comments?

It's important to take time to heal from things in life. In listening to this book I peeled back some layers of the onion that is my life and am ready to share some stories that I pray will be of encouragement to others.
